Did anyone take hypnobirthing classes to prepare for labor and delivery? I'm willing to try anything to make labor somewhat less awful this time! A friend of mine took these classes and was able to deliver without any drugs.

jac, I didn't take hypnobirthing but I did do Bradley classes - I had no drugs with Timmy, and would not describe my labor as painful - intense yes, but not painful. I thought what i had learned in the classes and then re-reading the book really helped me feel comfortable and in control.

I think I'm going to do ivf. CD3 b/w this weekend and an apt with an RE next Weds. It's covered by our insurance and when I brought it up to dh he said we could consider it which I'm taking as a green light It's been nine cycles now of BFN and given that I'm 37...

Although maybe you're right molly - AF still hasn't shown up yet (now late on 15dpo), which is the longest I've gone since my last pg.

nico- wow i'm so happy dh is on board!! WIll definitely be thinking of you! Keep us updated throughout everything!! Fingers crossed for you!!

bebe- were doing ok! Mia is pretty tough still, mostly sleep issues! We have been doing CIO per the advice of my MIL (who is truly a god-sent mother and my idol, practically, tho without wanting to admit it to dh), and our ped! He said let her cry til she falls asleep, everyone will be a lot happier when she learns to fall asleep on her own in her own bed! I was stunned at this advice! And as much as i hate it i've been doing it! It is working! Tho things arent be any means peachy but at least she is sleeping more in her crib than she is in my front pack! I just want time to go by faster until she needs less sleep and the issues resolve themselves! Glad Disney went well for you guys and you have figured out your nanny needs! Now only to find someone, right? How awful of your nanny to be texting the whole time and not offer to help in any way! I wouldnt ever think of acting how some people act while on the job, crazy!

jac- i havent taken them or heard of them really, but have heard great things about the Bradley method!

mama- i wouldnt worry so much about charlie! We all have different personalities and some of us tend to be more introverted while others more extroverted! I'm sure he's progressing wonderfully in many other areas!

allison- good luck this week, but sounds like you guys have lots to keep you busy!

    hello to everyone else!!

Nico- I'm so excited for you! But of course still holding out a little hope since AF hasn't shown..have you tested again? I briefly considered IVF since I was so worried about multiples...ha. Things turned out a little differently. Awesome that your insurance covers everything. How are you feeling about everything?

jaymie- It sounds like you're feeling better about things and that Mia is making sleep progress. I found myself frequently wanting time to pass b/c I'm definitely not a baby person.

jac- I'm a big believer in hypnosis but know next to nothing about hypno-birthing. I used to see a therapist/hypnotist and he helped prepare women for labor.

Nico: Good luck! (either with IVF or with AF not showing up--- have you tested again? I can't tell you how many sticks I peed on during my months/years of ttc). Since your insurance covers IVF (I remember being very jealous of all Mass. residents during my IVF days) it's really the best way to go-- since you can be really strict about transferring only 1 embryo, and hence don't have to worry about suddenly having twins or more. Plus, then you'll really know what's going on in your body and how everything is. The shots and monitoring are annoying and time consuming, but not much worse than doing injectibles without IVF, but much more effective and safer with respect to multiples. Anyway, I hope this is all moot and that you're actually pregnant right now. But if not, fingers crossed for the next steps.

    Carol: fingers crossed!

Thanks for the birthday wishes for Avery everyone! We had a fun little celebration last night at my in-laws. She loved blowing out the candle and eating the icing off her cupcake. The big party for her and Alana is on May 14, but I am really concerned. My 92 year old grandma in NYC is very ill, I don't think she has much longer. Frankly all of us are hoping it will be quick, because we don't want to see her suffer, but I selfishly I am terrified I'll have to fly to NYC the weekend of the girls' party or worse, the following weekend when we are booked to go to San Francisco. Sounds terrible, I know. Don't get me wrong, I am devastated, but dementia has been taking over for the last year, so she is really not her self. It's been very difficult to watch. She was such a vibrant woman...

Nic - Sorry to hear you are losing hope on this cycle, but I think that is very exciting that you are going to do IVF. I am actually going to an IVF orientation session this coming Tuesday at the fertility clinic where I am doing my placement. My supervisor wants me to investigate areas where clients going through the process can get more emotional support.
