Jaymie - Congrats on the girl news! I hear ya...a big part of me wanted a boy the 2nd time because I knew we were only having two kids. But same sex siblings are so fun! And sisters are great...do you have any? My sister is my best female friend...I know it's not like that for all sisters, but it can be a really special bond! My DH is really into "guy" stuff too...he would have picked a boy in a second, if he had a choice. But he is so, so in love with our two girls and says he wouldn't change a thing now. And you are so right in that you will save a TON of money. I never buy clothes for M. Glad I made sure A's stuff stayed nice! (btw...we had the low placenta/no sex for 4 weeks too...i think it's kind of silly given it's normal to be lower earlier in pregnancy, but we followed dr's orders anyway). Congrats again!

jaymie- Congratulations on another girl! I think you'll settle into the idea and realize all the wonderful things of having 2 girls. I see so many cool things that Hunter and Aiden have in common.

allison- I meant to respond to you earlier- Aiden is quite the story teller as well! He's very imaginative and creates these creative, dramatic stories. If it's harmless, I just go along with it but when it matters I call him on it he typically cracks. There have been times when he doesn't though.

nico- Interesting research you've uncovered about schooling! I think someone said this earlier but I really and truly feel it depends on the kid and where they are academically and emotionally. I was the oldest in my grade and loved it throughout all my years. For Aiden, I feel very certain he will repeat kinder since he only misses the cutoff by 2 days, I mean if I would have had him on my due date he would still be in pre-k. He academically does well with the older kids but I can see his emotional immaturity anytime I'm around him and his classmates together. However, he's on a soccer team outside of school and he's one of the older ones and he shows great leadership and a confidence that surprised me! It will be interesting to see how he does next year....

jaime- good to hear from you! Aren't twin tantrums the worst!?!?! It's like someone is always screaming in our house!

nic- i have spent way too much time on that site, too!

allison- ooh! thanks for another book rec. i have the how to talk so kids will listen book by the same author. honeslty, the sibling thing sorta freaked me out when i read the chapter in nurture shock.

jaymie- i think your feelings are totally normal, but i also think it is fabulous you are having a girl. there is a big part of me that really wants a sister for sarah one day...

spin- i cannot imagine how freaked out you were thinking avery had a 107 fever?!?! i was really losing it thinking sarah was hypothermic and definitely not thinking/acting as level headed as i would like to have... i would seriously probably not be able to put one foot in front of the other thinking 107! yikes! glad she is ok!!!!

jac- wondering about you, too! where are you in your cycle now?

happy friday!!!! i have a GYN appt today and am sorta hoping she'll do an u/s and some labs to give me an idea of what's up in there!

carol - good luck with the appt! hows S been since the one bad night??

jaymie - congrats on the girl!! i think its great to have two girls close in age. my sister is my best friend too, its a wonderful bond to have! any name ideas??

nic - i cant believe how big timmy is!! i am so envious. i swear, i give them juice and anything else for that matter hoping to bulk them up. i never have given them mcdonalds and today i picked it up for them after their school let out. i knew they were hungry after running around all morning ...did they eat it? no!! ugh!!

allison/jamie - mine are both attached to pacifiers and maddie to her blankie (luckily, its a generic carters blankie and we have about 10 of them!) i havent tried to limit it at all yet, but am expecting some battles when i do. im seriously not looking forward to it!

spin - i just read your blog about discipline and your battles with the girls. you are so not alone. i bet most mothers feel like you feel. i am going to have to start reading some books, because im not very good at discipline and go to great lengths to avoid conor's tantrums (which can happen about pretty much anything these days!!)

jamie - my ped actually told me that twins usually are behind in the talking arena. i wouldnt be worried at all. maddie is starting to be able to communicate what she wants to me and it makes things so much easier. i think a lot of conor's frustration stems from not being able to communicate his wants.

    tras - how are you?

kathleen - saw you put an offer in on a new house, thats great!!

nico-yes, they scheduled an u/s for wednesday. and they said they will use that to determine my due date. i'm looking foward to finding out when i actually ovulated. i am feeling ok. really tired all of a sudden but can't sleep, i just toss and turn. what's going on w/you?

jayme-i'm sure how you feel is totally normally. i know if i find out it's another girl i'll feel the same way, plus i know my dh would really like a boy and we are done after the next one. but at least the baby is healthy and you will save lots of money on clothes.

Bebe - Thanks, yeah, I find disciplining so hard! I end up giving in and not being consistent no matter how many times I promise myself I won't do these things anymore. I don't know what my problem is. And the thing is, it doesn't work. Alana clearly doesn't respect me. Even DH says so. How are you doing? How is your mom?

no idea why my post double posted. hmm. that happened before, too.

so no posts all day? well, i do think sarah is having mmr reaction. more and more spots are appearing. but it is not bad - nothing like all over hives that she had with her amox allergic reaction. and she actually seems more like herself. i think the low grade fever is finally over. but i hate this stuff!

jess- exciting for u/.s on wed!

spin- i've really been on a parenting book kick... ( i think it is just the hardest thing i have ever done and don't think a lot of it is intuitive and have always studied when i want to do something well, so approaching this in the same way!) anyway, i really like the book - between parent and child by ginott. it is a classic and think you might enjoy... talks a lot about the foundation of parenting based on mutual respect - theoretical but also very practical.
