maybe its also just a change in season? and you body is adjusting to the winter? and i suppose you check in the AM? low temps are associated with being cold, sleepy and hungry...

Sunshine - my temps are generally between 96.5 - 97.18ish. They vary. I had my thryoid checked in May and it was normal (TSH 1), which is actually closer to the "hyper" end of things than hypo. I think some women just have lower bbt's than others. But I'm definitely no expert.

Mon - fingers and toes crossed!

Shayla - keep up the positive vibes!

    Jily - thinking of you!

    rainy - I hope you're feeling better

Allie - thanks for the words of encouragement Good luck to you too sweets! How have you been handling the exercise reduction?

    Thanks stace

AFM: day 3 of Clomid for me...it seems to be making me a little blue I'm not feeling that at all. I still haven't heard back from my OB about the progesterone support. I'll probably call the office after lunch and leave a message for the nurse.

Hi michey, pa, lawgirl, transcat, rufus, bod, gs, bride, yogi, carly, all the newbies, and everyone I missed!

I’ve been reading and following, but just haven’t been posting much. I find this time of year time just seems to disappear - still no excuse!

Rainy day – So glad to hear your home and doing better.

JB – It’s been so exciting reading your progress! You’re definitely an inspiration!

Shayla – I can totally relate to where you’re coming from on the realization that changes to your lifestyle need to be made. It feels almost like your whole identity will change and change is always so hard even though it’s one of the only constant things in our lives.

Mon – Keeping my fingers crossed for you!!!

For all those with a BFP/Betas – Congrats!!!

AFM – I’ve been doing well with keeping my weight up – I’ve managed to get up almost two pounds in the few weeks, so I’m almost at 125 - BMI is almost at 21! Anytime the # on the scale starts to bother me, I just go back to thinking about why I’m doing this and it seems to just make any negative thoughts disappear! I’ve also moved out the clothes that may not fit great to not feel discouraged. I’ve noticed some changes too, TMI time! dryness has definitely gone down and my sex drive is way up (DH is loving this! lol) – obviously connected. I’ve also been feeling a lot of sensations in my ovaries. All great signs to me!

Question - I was taking vitex for the last few weeks, but stopped since I noticed a rash - it was only on my stomach and a little on my back (maybe 3 or 4 red spots). I wasn’t sure if it was related, but the rash was always worse in the AM and would look like its clearing in the PM. I stopped taking it two days ago and the rash (it almost looks like hives) has gone way down. I was using a tincture of about 40 drops. Have any of you ladies who tried vitex had any reactions? It was the only thing I changed so I figured there must be a connection. Thanks in advance for your help!

    Happy Monday btw!!!

Shayla- I just to teach zumba some as well and am in healthcare so I do understand but I've adapted as well. I had a natural o as well so realize that the changes I've made have helped. I've also had a miscarriage in the past so as much as I'd like to start exercising again when I eventually get pregnant, I will likely only walk then for awhile as well.
34 yo.dx'd HA age 16. ocps until age 30. off ocps, 2 AF in 2 yrs. Aggressively started TTC 5/2010. Wt then 5'4'' 120. Exercising >1 hr daily 6-7 days/wk. Nov 2010 wt 125. Hi ladies!! It's been a while since I've been on, so just want to start off by saying congrats to all the new BFP's and for everyone else who is making great progress so far.

So I did 3 rounds of Clomid 50mg, days 5-9 the past three months, O'd on all cycles but not pregnant yet. Now I am on my first natural cycle since my gyn wouldn't give me another round of Clomid. Any of you have experience with a regular cycle after finally ovulating on Clomid?? I'm nervous to have NO meds this cycle, and hope that the Clomid "jump started" my ovaries to work again.

Also, I have only been doing walking and yoga the past 6 months but was thinking of adding in a couple Zumba classes a week, do you think that will throw off my natural cycle? So many questions......trying not to stress!

I think that if your body is stable and happy in where it wants to be you may ovulate on your own. I probably wouldn't increase the exercise or make any other changes while you're trying to see if your body will ovulate on its own. If you do ovulate on your own this cycle, you could consider adding something back next cycle and if your cycle goes away again then you know it's too intense but I might just recommend leaving everything the same until you conceive. Just my 2 cents worth!

Mondonn - these high temps are giving me high hopes for you! The suspense is killing me though! And you don't get betas do you?

D7d - do sorry clomid made you sad. It did awful things to me too, turned me into a psycho! You will feel better soon though. When you think about what clomid actually does it is no wonder it makes people feel like crap

Afm - on day 4 of e2 tablets, feel normal (but this is my 3rd FET cycle so I've done this protocol before) oh except for intense dreams all night and talking in my sleep - last night I asked DH to "do that special clap you do" WTF?!
BCP until Nov 2009. Running 50kms/week until May 2010. Injs June 2010 BFN. Injs July 2011, overstimmed so converted to IVF. One chem preg, two FETs both BFN. Nov 2010 acu and herbs 6 months, cycles not returned. April - July 2011 EP clomid plus trigger, femara 2.5mg all BFN. IVF#2 ET 13 Oct, MC 6 weeks, D&C. ET 24 Jan, chem preg. ET 3 April - BFP! EDD 20 December 2012!

Thanks D7D. I'm thinking that my thyroid is okay just because I only starting seeing these lowered temps after over dieting. I think they fact that they are still low might be either because these are my new "normal" or because I am still not eating enough (carbs or enough in general) or I may be fighting a cold (I tend to get "reverse fevers" when fighting something).

On a positive note: I am finally a "pear" shape again! YAY! It's been about 2 years since I've been my natural shape. I've been more of an apple (a small waist to hip ratio) due to abdominal weight gain from stress and whacked out hormones, but my fat has finally redistributed. Yay! I never thought I'd be so happy about lower body fat lol.

    Hello ladies!

I came across this forum today while doing some searching on HA. I also came across some blogs which I think may belong to some of you? It's all been such wonderful information, thank you for sharing. I haven't been diagnosed with HA but I suspect I might be dealing with it. I wanted to share my story and if possible gain some feedback on whether this truly sounds like HA, and how to proceed.

    Here goes!

I'm 28 years old, 5'2", healthy weight and BMI (~125lbs, BMI 22.9). I wasn't always this way. For most of my life I was obese, and it wasn't until my late teens / early 20's that I lost the weight. My highest weight was 200lbs. I would estimate that I lost about half the weight before I ever started the pill, and the other half after (around 19yo.) By the time I graduated college I was in the low 130's and my lowest weigh since then has been 120. So I've never been underweight, nor have I had an eating disorder. But the reason I point this out is because I understand that some people with HA are those that had simply gone from being obese to normal. Is that right?

Over the past few years I've been eating pretty clean and exercising what some would consider frequently. 3-4 days heavy lifting + 2-3 days cardio.

This past July I stopped taking BCP in hopes of TTC.

And, you guessed it: no periods yet.

My PCP (I don't have an OB right now) did bloodwork in October which showed everything was normal except for my estrogen levels, which were extremely low. (She said my number was typical of a woman going through menopause.) She did mention that my estrogen levels combined with other hormonal levels (sorry, I don't remember everything exactly because this is all still pretty new to me!) indicated that my hypothalamus probably wasn't working properly. Because I'm young, and it hasn't been very much time yet, she had zero interest in starting me on meds yet and wants me to continue waiting this out. She seems to think that it's just a result of having been on the pill for so long (though obviously this doesn't happen to everyone!) I don't fully trust that she knows enough about this so I've scheduled an appointment with an OB, but it's not till the end of January (earliest I could get as a new patient.)

In the meantime, I've taken up the Chinese medicine approach: acupuncture, herbs, and diet changes (avoiding wheat, dairy, caffeine, and sugar.) It's been about 2 weeks. I've been charting temperature too - so far, there has been no indication of ovulation.

Since the summer I've also cut way back on cardio - first because there was a period of time I just got super busy, then laziness kicked in, then the idea of "less cardio might help my cause." So currently my workouts consist of lifting 4x per week. And I'm pretty sure I eat plenty!

So that's where I am. I'm looking forward to the appointment with the OB so I can possibly start exploring other options, if acupuncture hasn't worked by then.

I would love to hear from anyone else with a similar story. Or, if this doesn't sound like HA to you, please feel free to tell me (politely!) and I won't be offended!

    Thanks
