A_J85 - did they measure estradiol levels? i believe that can help distinguish between a cyst and a mature follicle, although i could be wrong...

whitfield - i'm so sorry you're having to go through this. it's funny, i composed nearly the exact same post as lawgirl and then left it to send later... the question is really what you would be comfortable doing if you ended up pregnant with triplets or quads. pregnancies with high order multiples carry some pretty serious health risks, and selective reduction carries an ~ 5% risk of losing the whole pregnancy. i think it's especially hard because you don't know how you'll respond - since this is your first injectable cycle, it's hard to know whether you're more likely to get pregnant with 0 or 3 or 5. i know that wendy from this board tried follicular aspiration to reduce the number of follicles about 9 months ago - not sure if that's a route your RE would be comfortable with. PM me if you have any questions about IVF - i'm in the middle of my second IVF cycle and am also an overstimmer

Rainy day I'm like that- I feel super sad on holidays- cant wait till valentines day or something! this time will pass fast!

Mon that's for asking- I feel weird in general- maybe it's all the changes happening- cant tell if I have twitches in ovaries or it's just bowel! How does one know?? I'm going tomorrow am for u/s and bloodwork.. It'll be cd15 (cd1 was day 1 of clomid).. Sort of scared now I don't want to know the results! Feel like exams all over again!!

Mon--thank you! Yes, my lining was 13mm. This cycle was with femara. So you think that the lining indicates that it's not a cyst??

Rainy-they did not measure estradiol levels. Just a 32mm follicle and 13mm lining. Then they gave me the HCG trigger shot. How are you doing??

aj- i had a 23mm follicle on cd 13 on my last cycle, and i didn't ovulate until over 5 days after that measurement was taken. at that stage, follicles grow 2-3mm a day, so mine had to be at least 32mm when i finally did ovulate. i was really worried it was a cyst, but that follicle turned out to be the one that got me preggers!

Stef: sorry you are feeling so discouraged. Keep at it...thus will happen for you( easier said then done I know).
Eva: sorry you are having a hard time with weight gain! I hear you and u think we all can relate to that feeling. Definitely buy new clothes and I avoid looking in full length mirrors. Also picturing my future baby helps! I was also told that clonus wouldnt work for me and then 8 lbs later I have o'd on my own twice! I have bought preseed online... Can't find it in Canada.

Aj: congrats on the follie!!! I'm sure they would be able to tell if it was a cyst or not. Enjoy the bms and 2 ww!!

Awhitefield: I would definitely go with ivf if oop. Way higher odds abd it sound like you responded super well! Sorry I can't give any advice on whether or not to do ti.

Pa: good luck at your ultrasound! Twinges are good!

AFM: after alot of thought me and DH have decided to do ivf. The re told us that our only chance is ivf with icsi if we want a child 100 percent ours. DH semen analysis had count of 1.7 million and 0 percent morphology . But he said he could probably find a least 20 good sperm. Never did I think that we would even have to consider donor sperm! We are totally oop.. And just bought a new house. So for the next couple months I will be working tons of overtime. The wait list us 2-3 months. At first I was super upset... But now I am thankful there is even an option for us . Maybe thus time next year I will be preggers or even have a baby! Does having your cycle back increase your odd of a successful ivf at all?

Rainy: I think a while back u mentioned having a chart with all the ivfers day by day drug doses, scans etc. I would be interested! But am computer illiterate....

mon, Pa, and A_J85 - thanks for asking about me. i went in for another scan today - they finally counted all of the follicles to see what we were in for at retrieval, and they saw 42. not a typo - 42 follicles. there's a decent cohort that's between about 13 and 16 mm - maybe 10 or so - so i'm hoping those could give me some high quality embryos. i'm guessing that they'd rather wait another 2 days to trigger me to allow some of those to mature a bit and some of the smaller ones to catch up, but they worry that stimming for too long can have a negative effect on the endometrial lining (not for IUI, just for IVF because the E2 levels are then elevated for so long). i'm trying to be positive - i might actually get to retrieval and have my first TWW since may! - but also realistic that this hasn't been a picture-perfect cycle and my chances for success are a little low...
