Anyone Hear from Sivje?

Hey, I'd love to get in touch with Sivje if anyone can email me with her contact info ( trinapsalm145@earthlink.net ).

Sivje, if you're out there, I saw your post on Steven Curtis Chapman's website regarding the tragic loss of Maria. I'd love to hear how y'all are doing!

Trina

Hi Trina,
I know Sivje sometimes post on the International Adoption board from time to time. I haven't seen a post from her in a while now. I am sure she is super busy with those two wonderful daughters.

How are you doing Miss Trina? How is your college boy doing? I still can't imagine him being old enough to go to college. Where does the time go?

Roo, I've copied and pasted my update from your previous thread:

We are having a busy summer. Vance isn't working right now, but he stays busy looking for a job and doing stuff around here. Daniel is home for the summer from college and is working in the Dietary Dept. at the Rehab place where I work in Admissions. It's great to have him home!

I went to my hometown over the holiday weekend. My dear uncle had died two weeks before and I was unable to go to his funeral, which broke my heart. His daughter got married the Saturday before Mem. Day, and I was able to attend her wedding, which was wonderful (and bittersweet with her dad gone). I also attended my great-nephew's 4th birthday party - with pirates as the theme - lots of fun! Mom and my SIL and I went to the cemetery on Monday and put flowers at my great-grandmother's, grandparents', uncle's and Dad's graves, as well as my best friend's mom's grave. We also went shopping and Mom got a cool baker's rack and some silk flowers for her house. The rest of the time was relaxing, eating, and girl-talk. We needed a visit like that!

NOW, an update to the update! Vance got a new contract job in Erie, PA yesterday, starting June 16. We hate it that he has to travel again, especially with Daniel home for the summer, but he has to work somewhere and this is the only opportunity that has opened up. We are hoping that they will eventually let him telecommute, or a local job will open up (he applied for one with the state, but they take forever to fill jobs - it could be months).

Roo, can you believe my boy will be 19 in July?!

I am so sorry about your uncle. It is so hard losing people we love so dear. His daughter must have had such a wonderful wedding but must have had such a difficult time without her da there.

Congrats on Vance's new job. I hate he has to travel again, but maybe something will pop up closer to home soon.

You must be so happy to have Daniel home for the summer and working near you. I cannot even believe he is 19! Wow, time has flown by. Before you know it you will have some grandbabies to spoil. :-)

Hey, let's get Daniel through college and married before we talk about grandbabies!

We got a huge blessing this week. Daniel got two grants for school, for over $4,000! Between that and his scholarship, his sophomore year will cost us less than $1,000!

Also, Vance's job got put off for a week, so he'll be home a few more days.

How are your munchkins?

Hi Trina,
What a blessing for Daniel receiving those grants! And how wonderful that Vance will have a few days with you both before being away from home.

The kiddos are doing great, just finished the school year yesterday and are so excited about summer. They are all growing like weeds. The little princess rules her brothers who gladly give in to her every whim, along with her dad. Of course mom is the one big dose of reality for her. :-)

Hope you enjoy having your baby home.

Hey Roo,

Today is Daniel's 19th birthday (he and Sivjie share the day)! I can hardly believe it - when did my little boy grow up to be a man?

We celebrated early when Vance was home (dinner at Olive Garden and DQ ice cream cake), so last night I baked a cake that he could take to work today. Since he had to be at work at 12:30, we went out for birthday breakfast at Cracker Barrel - yummo!

Another shocker - the first of his high school classmates got married on Saturday! I'm not ready for this!!

We take him back to school on August 16. Can't believe summer is over!

Enjoy those younguns, Roo! They grow up fast!

Happy Birthday Daniel! Wow, how is it possible he is 19? It seems like yesterday when he was the world's best spelling bee champ. I hope he had a wonderful birthday. It is amazing how quickly they grow up. I am a little afraid of that. :-)

Give your boy a big hug from all his cyber aunties here!
