I'm so pleased to have this living history museum near us that offers wonderful preschool programs for ages 2 - 5. We went today and I told the ladies that I wasn't signing Tommy up anymore since he's six and I didn't want to take a spot for another child of the intended age. They had NO problem with me signing him up anyway. They open more classes as the need arises so I shouldn't have even worried. She said as long as he's comfortable participating, they had no problem with it. I told her he's actually more comfortable around children younger than him so it's perfect. So, all three of my children participated in activities together and I've signed them up for some more classes over the next few Fridays. DH has worked a LOT of overtime lately so we had some extra money. Next week is a springtime class and the next week is Wool Wonders--shearing the sheep!!! We went to this one last year and the kids were enthralled. So much learning and so much fun!!

We have Music with Mar which is a fun music class thing meant for preschoolers. Jake loves it and is 2 years beyond where other kids stop going or participating. He hasn't been able to go all year but the teacher loves him, misses him, and has welcomed him back after school is out with open arms. The coolest part is that you don't enroll. You just show up and pay like $7 per family for class that day. The teacher used to be a spEd teacher.

I don't know how unique these are, but we have a Wildlife Museum (non-living but real animals from all over the world, plus insects), Dinosaur Museum (real Dinosaur bones were found just down the street from my parents house several years ago), a new state of the art recreation/aquatic center (the pool is very nice and open year round), and then the basic things like library storytime.
Amanda,
blessed homeschooling mom to three beautiful princesses and and one handsome little prince!
