on Labetelol and Lexapro
are any of you on either of these? i have a hx of high blood pressure, before pregnancy; as for lexapro, i am a very anxious person and was on lexapro for years; my psychiatrist said it is ok; i am only on 10mg a day; thinking of cutting back to 5; so hope it doesnt hurt my baby but i think my nerves would stress my baby out more; had to weigh risk vs benefit

I was put on labetelol when I was pregnant. It is safe for pregnancy. Just make sure your ob monitors you closely. High bp can cause growth issues, so you should get extra ultrasounds starting around 28 weeks and also NSTs around 34 weeks.

do you mean low growth issues? what is an NST? thanks

Yes, they can be small for gestational age, since the high blood pressure can reduce the blood flow to the placenta. NST is a non stress test. Some drs do them in the office, others have you get them done at the hospital. Basically they hook up a monitor to the baby and watch his/her heartrate and how they are moving for about 20 minutes. It is just a check to make sure that the baby is doing okay. They usually start them around 34 or 35 weeks and do them about twice a week.
