8th Pg just diagnosed but hcg not rising?

Hi ladies,

On Friday, I received the great news that our iui this round had been successful. My beta showed an hcg number of 36 at 13 dp iui (we know this was 4 days after implant so while the number is low, it was actually good considering that). Because I am paranoid after having had so many miscarriages, I have continued to test with hpts as well because I was really hoping to see a nice dark 2nd line (rather than the almost indistinguishable one I had on Friday morning). On Friday night it was slightly darker, yesterday was about the same as Friday night, and this morning we are back to being incredibly light. I've been having cramps since Saturday morning, and I've had a lower back ache for about the past two weeks. I am currently scheduled to go in for an additional beta on Tuesday. Has anyone else had a similar circumstance and gone on to have a healty pg? I know from past experience that there is nothing that the doctor can do either way it's just a matter of fate, but I'm trying to determine if I should be mentally preparing for the worst.

Thank you.

(((hugs))) I am sorry for the emotional roller coaster. Having experienced many early losses too, and being a fanatic at hpt's...all I can say is you must rely on the beta. The cramping isn't a good indicatior, as you can have that either way. And hpt's can be unreliable as far as dark or light lines go. It still says you are pg....and I'm sending a prayer and ++++++ thoughts that you get good news today.

Oh hun, I'm sorry you're being faced with this. I have no advice to give. I've heard stories like this go both ways. I'd say prepare for the worst, but hope for the best!! Good luck hun, keep us posted!!

Thank you both for the support. I actually went out and got one of the digital home tests (which don't register the lower hcg numbers), and it came back negative yesterday, so I'm not feeling too hopeful, but I've just come from the lab, so I guess I will know something more concrete within the next couple of hours... nothing like a few racked nerves first thing in the morning... I'll keep you posted on what I find, but in the meantime really just wanted to say thank you.

WOHOO!!!!!!!

I just heard from the RE - this morning's beta went from 36 to 425 (94 hrs later)!!!!! I am feeling so incredibly relived at this stage!!! Still on the two day beta cycle testing, but this feels like such a major hurdle - I was really convinced that I was going to have another early m/c...

Thank you ladies again!! :-)
