Okay, I'm Being Paranoid, Crazy

I am 9w2d PG today with twins. I have IC. I am scheduled for a cerclage next week, Wednesday March 2nd when I will be 10 weeks. I have had spotting off and on which we think is due to a third sack where the fetus didn't develop.

My paranoia is this. I'm so afraid something is going to happen to my cervix before my cerclage next week. Crazy I know. But I have had some more spotting today and sometimes it can get watery. It is brownish, not bright red and most of the time it is stringy IYKWIM, sorry TMI but just now it was kind of watery. I am so paranoid about the cervical discharges.

I have been put on no work and rest when I've been spotting in the past but I am quickly running out of leave to take off from work so today because it hasn't been that bad, I've stayed at work and just tried to stay off my feet.

Am I putting my babies at risk? Please tell me this discharge, aside from the brownish stuff is normal.

I warned you that I'm going crazy.

Thanks,

Myra,

Many hugs, you are not going crazy at all, you are just a concerned mom, wanting so desperately to have a happy ending this time and there is nothing wrong with that or the feelings/thoughts you are having!

The discharge does sound normal (minus the spotting, though that can be normal w/multi's). I know my saying this won't alleviate your worry (it wouldn't alleviate it in me if I were in your position), so definitely ask your doctor to do a lither test so your mind can be put at ease. In fact, you might ask him/her if you can take some lither stirps home with you just to do self-tests when you are feeling anxious.

Hugs and please update us post-op!

Myra,

I agree w/ Jillie that the discharge sounds pretty normal, except for the spotting. But I think her suggestion is a great one.

It's ironic to me that the cervix is one of the few muscles in our body we can't strengthen or control, or feel for that matter...which, for me, makes me alwys leap to the worst thougts n my mind.

Anyway, I think ur feelings r (sadly) normal--and we certainly understand feeling paranoid and crazy!

Sending you a big and thoughts for peace...

I don't think you are crazy at all, every little ache, pain, twinge or spot has me going insane on a regular basis.
Can your Dr. give you official medical leave so that you could still get paid but not have to be at work?
Take care,
Hilary

If you're crazy, then I'm a lunatic. Like the others said, it sounds normal.
