Question Hey girls new here looking for advise

Hi Ill try to make my story brief. Ihave PCOS, hypothyroidsm and MTHFR, as well as a protein s defiency!! Geez sound like iam going to fall apart. Ive had 3 m/c and one birth to my now 1 year old son who was born with Down syndrome. Iam currently pg with #2 and iam scared to death. I am early in pg not sure how far do to irregular periods , but we are thinKing 3-4 weeks. my Betas are as followed

2/19 236
2/20 346 (different lab)
2/21 500
2/23 1000!

My first progesterone level was 14 on 2/19 I had ultrasound on 2/19 in ER which showed nothing. I go tomorrow for beta #4/5
and if levels double again they should be at least 2000 and they said they should be able to see sac at least. I have posted on several other boards on here and no one seems to like answering questions so I though i would make one last attempt I am currently on baby asprin, 4mg folic acid, vitamins (2 flinstones due to nausea) with my last pregnancy I took lovenox 75mg inj daily and then heparin 2 inj after 36weeks. They said that once they see a viable pg they will restart lovenox.

So here is my questions do my betas look ok?
do you think progesterone is too low? Iasked dr and he said 11-90 is normal so mine will rise with pg.
And when can you usually see a sac or something?
since my levels are over 1000 now they fall in 5 week range for pg , but i have no idea when i would be due.

thanks for taking the time to read all this good luck everyone!!

Hi,

I don't know how helpful this will be based on the fact that you don't have a definitive conception/due date but....

Your HCG levels sound great, nice numbers and they are doubling exactly as they should be! I was told by my RE's office that they like to see progesterone levels between 20-40, so by their office, your levels are on the low side. I will say, however, that people in the non-IF world normally never have a clue as to what any of their levels are so take my RE's office gauge w/a grain of salt. If you are concerned, you can always request addt'l progesterone supplementation.

As for waiting to start the lovenox, I was told that it should be started sooner rather than later. The whole reason people need it (generally) is to thin the blood to allow for optimal embryo implantation.

In terms of seeing a sac, I think it will depend on the type of u/s machine being used. At 4w2d my Peri (who obviously uses a fancy machine) told me I was having twins. Most people here don't have an u/s until they are 6-7wks along because that is the best time to see things, including a heartbeat.

Hang tight, it sounds like you and your little one are doing great!

I agree with what Jillie said, your numbers look good and strong! II don't have much info on prog levels or other issues, but want to wish you good luck w/ everything!

I too agree with everyone. As for progesterone, like Jillie said, you can always ask for some support. My OBGYN said that it can't hurt because your body will automatically dispose of the extra so you can't get too much. Another thing you may want to do is have them run your progesterone again in a week to see if it is maintaining or even increasing. If anything, it will give you peace of mind.

Good luck!

Hi there...
and congratulations!!!! I know how scared you must be...but one step at a time..ok??? Breathe!!!!

You normally can just make out the 'grain of rice' as my RE liked to call it when your beta's hit 1000. You have to have a really good machine. I was 4w4d when they checked me both times to be assured there was something growing in the uterus before they would start my heparin. They said the reason for this was that they don't want to introduce a blood thinner if you have an ectopic pg. Your beta's sound really good, and at the next u/s (soon!) they should confirm intra uterus growth and be able to start you on your meds. I don't know about the progesterone number...my RE wouldn't check for it, but she would have her patients take it because in her words "it can't hurt, it may help."

+++ thoughts to you
