Need advice, confused about POF treatment
I'm new to the forum and have loads of questions regarding treatment for POF patients. Firstly just a little background about me. I was dx with pof last year at 29 yrs old, my mid cycle fsh reading was 89 and amh was 0.9. Hubby and i have have been ttc for over a year without success, we have also done two ivf cycles which resulted in poor response and no eggs.
I've been doing lots of research to better understand my condition and how ivf cycles can be tailored to my situation and am very confused with e2 (estrogen) levels. So ivf cycles can only start with a period which should mean e2 levels at base are low. Given that e2 levels are an indication of follicles growing in the ovaries why is it not good if the e2 levels are high at baseline blood test?
I don't ovulate regularly and don't produce many follicles so I'm trying whatever i can to maximize whatever follicles that grow. My RE is very supportive and will do egg retrieval even if i have 1 follicle growing.
My other question is regarding ivf protocols. For those of us POFers who don't ovulate regularly I'm interested in hearing what types of protocols others have been on and how successful was it in retrieving eggs.
My last question is are there any supplements known to lower fsh? Or supplements known to increase estrogen and increase cervical mucus? What does royal jelly do for pof patients? Is it dangerous? I heard it can cause allergic reactions.
Funny how questions always pop up after you leave the docs office.
