High FSH cylers and Chat for February

Questions...
I am doing stimulants for the first time. Tonight will be the 4th night (CD 7) of 6 nights. I am doing 225 follistim and 225 menopur. Friday morning I am doing BW and US to see if any of the 10 follicles they spotted last Friday have matured. If they have, I am doing the HCG trigger shot on Friday night then TTC naturally.
Has anyone ever given the HCG trigger shot to them self?
DH is working at night, so I have been doing the stims myself, but the trigger shot is totally different.
Any suggestions?
Also, does anyone have any suggestions about when and how often to BD? What about before the shot to make sure DH has the best stuff?
Any info is appreciated.

katie, i did my own trigger shot and most of my own progesterone shots too. it is scary the first time, but honestly not bad to actually do it. the needle is so sharp, you don't even really need to go fast. and it doesn't hurt so much as ache, i thought...you can totally do it! go on youtube and watch how it's done...there are lots of videos.

beth, i am starting round 2 in a week or so so we'll be about the same time again. i am doing coculture with dr. davis at cornell, today i had the endometrial biopsy. had heard it was painful, but it was like an HSG except way faster, so no big deal. i start EPP saturday and lower dose stims than last time, along with clomid, once i get my period.

i'll try to keep up with this thread for a while...

Gray- I love that we are going to cycle together again. I will be with Dr. Check. Looks like we both got a new expert. I am also going to be doing much lower stims. Check said that the left over I have from last cycle (2 days worth of full stims) will last me for the entire cycle with him. He also said that he expects me to have a similar response as I did on full stims. He seemed really hopeful once he saw that I produced a mature egg without any drugs this month, and wanted to do a retrieval of that one egg on the day of my consult! Anyhow, I am trying not to be too hopeful. We still have DH's sperm issue to deal with even if I get 10 great eggs. We are going to have donor as a backup and see what happens.

Katie, I have done my PIO by myself. I was really nervous but it isnt bad at all. I just sat my butt on my bathroom counter so I could see in the mirror.

Thanks for the responses. I feel much more confident knowing that you were able to do it. If everything looks good Friday and I am told to trigger, then I CAN DO IT. I'll just keep thinking baby, baby, baby

Katie - Also you asked about the best time for BMS, I would think the day you do the shot then the next 2 days would be the best. I also didPIO myself once (just to prove I coild do it myself), I agree with the others that it looks scarier then it is. One thing you might have the nurse do when you go in is draw a circle on you where you should give the shot inside.

Hey ladies!
Just popping in here to say that I got my last IUI today. Bittersweet, but happy treatment is coming to a close. Dh had a great count - 50 mill with great motility and I felt relaxed. I had lots of cramping after and now it is settling down...
