    Hi Katie

Well it's all over. BW said that LH too high to continue. I was gutted but trying to move on positively to donor egg cycle. I just want to be pregnant now and complete our family! We are traveling to Greece on Thursday to discuss a donor cycle there at a clinic with a great reputation.

Hope AF comes so you can crack on!

    Hey Karen,
I'm sorry to hear about your LH. I know you really wanted this to work out. I hope your trip to Greece is successful. Are you going just to meet with the clinic, or will you have a little time for yourself? Have you already chosen a donor? I hope everything goes smoothly for you. Do you know when you'll do the transfer?

AFM: Well, I am going to sit out a cycle. I was scheduled to go in today for BW (HCG and E2, not FSH) and US. When I called to make the appt, I asked the nurse why they wouldn't test my FSH and she said she would ask the Dr. and get back to me. He said, with this protocol, my FSH wasn't as important, but if I were his wife, he would recommend me sitting out 1-2 cycles and giving my ovaries a rest, then try again. I was kind of surprised. I know he and his wife did IVF, so he knows from personal experience what this is like, but why did he change his mind? Anyway, I was kind of hesitant to do this next cycle, bc it involves ALOT of meds. I responded well to the meds the first cycle, then not well at all the second cycle. So, I think he is right, maybe my ovaries need a break, and then we can try again. So, I am going to sit out one cycle. I think AF will be here before the day is over. I am still waiting for a call back to find out if I am supposed to take BCP this cycle or not. I'm a little confused and upset, but for the most part, I feel like this is the right decision. I wasn't feeling right about this, and then for him to change his mind, well it kind of confirmed my hesitation.

Keep me updated. I hope your trip is a HUGE success!!!

Hi Katie how are you? Hope your wait doesn't feel too long but I think it sounded like a good idea!

We went to Greece and were told to try naturally for a month as I had a big follie on their scan but it didn't work and my AF arrived on Thursday. I was a bit sad but contacted the clinic straight away and they put me straight on meds as they've got a donor match for us already!! I'm so excited. She's started stimming yesterday! So it's all go now! Just got to hope for lots of good eggs that make lots of good sticky embies!!!!

    Thinking of you

    Karen,
I am sorry I have taken this long to respond. And I am so sorry you had to go through another cycle of wishing and hoping only to have it not work out. But it sounds like things are really moving fast with the DE. Your post was 9 days ago (again, so sorry), so what is going on now? I don't really know a lot about DE, so I'm not sure how long she has to take meds, but I really and truly hope that everything works out beautifully. Let me know how everything is going.

AFM: Even though I sat out this cycle, I did CD3 BW and US anyway. My FSH was back up to 48 and I only had one or two follies. I have really tried not to think about it. I haven't been on this site in weeks. I was really becoming obsessed and felt I need to truly take a break. I did take BCP for 21 days (last one was Saturday) and now I am waiting for AF. I'll do CD3 BW and see where to go from there. I'll probably have to sit out another cycle, but we'll see. My husband surprised me with a yorkie puppy two weeks ago. He is 3 lbs and his name is Luke. He has kept me pretty busy, which is a very good thing. I tried to change my profile pic to a pic of him, but I don't know if it worked. I guess I'll see after I post this.

Anyway, I hope you have some GREAT news to share very soon. Good luck!!!!!

Hi There, (katie) this is my first post so bare with me.
I also have high Fsh it bounces around but stays anywhere from 12-87. I am currently doing a natural cycle with egg freezing at New Hope. Which means no meds other than the one time I had to take bcp to lower my FSH from 87 to 4. They basically harvest the one egg you make every month as long as the follicle size and estrogen levels are good. I have been able to retrieve 4 good eggs in 7 months. I plan to harvest many as I can over the next year. The theroy behind this is it only takes one. So even though you dont get as many eggs as in a medicated cycle, you also dont overtax your already damaged ovaries and the continue to do their job. Since you still have follicles this may be a better option for you. I also do accupunture and take Chinese herbs. I take about 4 supplements as well. I have no idea how to make that fancy signature that everyone has but I just wanted to respond.

I am so sorry it has taken me so long to respond. I used to get an email if someone responded to one of my posts, but I haven't got one in a while. I have been staying off of the boards and trying not to obsess. Anyway, I finally logged on and saw I had responses.

    Macmommy,
Your plan sounds really great. I don't know if that would work for me, because without meds, my E2 is pretty low. This past month (after BCPs) my FSH was 41 and my E2 was less than 15 (I think those numbers are correct). So, I don't know if I would even make one egg. But it is definitely worth looking into. Thank you for the info. I hope it works for you. Keep us updated

    Karen,
So, any news? I hope you have some wonderful news. I am so sorry I haven't responded. I feel terrible about it. Luke is so sweet and keeps me very busy. Is there anything DH can take for his allergies? I got a cat when I was 14 and I love him so much. He lives at my mom’s house and he still obsesses over me whenever I go home. He loves to cuddle. He is 16lbs (not fat, just really long and tall), but for some reason, he is afraid of Luke (who is now 4.5 lbs) probably because Luke is hyper and the cat is laid back. Please update me when you have a chance.
I’ve have been and will continue to pray and think good thoughts for you.

AFM: After my last appointment, I felt like my RE was kind of blowing me off. When I asked what the plan was, the nurse said well, the doctor said you can track a natural cycle if you want. I asked what the chances were and she said slim, don't get my hopes up, but miracles can happen. I wasn’t happy with this vague response. I felt like they had given up on me and they were just waiting for me to agree to DE. Then, my neighbor told me about this doctor who a few of her friends went to. She isn't an RE, she specializes in Bio-identical hormones. One of my neighbor's friends TTC for 10 years had multiple failed IVFs and went to this new doctor and became PG within a few months (the other friends became PG as well). I know this may not happen for me, but I'm going to try. I have only been twice. She did a TON of BW. My P4 is a little low, my E2 is very low, my vitamin D could be higher and my SHBG (sexual hormone-binding globulin) is kind of high at 189. I had never even heard of this. So, she is giving me supplements for a liver cleanse to lower the SHBG, P4 cream, E2 cream and vitamin D drops. I have no idea if this is going to work, but she told me to give her 6-8 months to get all of my hormones back where they need to be and she thinks because I am "so young", I will get PG. She said she can't guarantee anything, but she wants me to be as healthy as possible: eat organic, do yoga, try to relax/meditate and just be as healthy as possible. I didn’t eat horribly before, but I have been switching everything to organic, doing yoga twice a week (I will try three times next week) and trying to relax and not stress over IF. She told me (on the second visit) that she has one child and had him at 43. She said her FSH was 130 and she got it down to 30 and got PG and she said she too produces a lot of the SHBG and had to get it under control before she could get PG…she wants mine around 70. I go back in 3 weeks to recheck my E2 and some other stuff and in 6 weeks to check the SHBG.
Anyway, I figure I was at my RE for 7 months and walked away with nothing but less money, so I will give this new doctor 7 months as well. I really like this lady too. I feel like she gets what I am going through and she explains things to me. If I'm not PG by the beginning of next year, I will seek out a new RE.
