    Pof and hrt. Child mentioned

Hi ladies. As you may know from other posts I'm 35 with high fsh with readings of 126,119and 111. Our first child was conceived naturally after two months of ttc so this dx was a real shock. I've been on dhea for about 11 weeks and have been having regular acupuncture for nearly a year. I've also recently started on royal jelly. 11 days ago we saw an re who suggested we give my poor ovaries a break from my super high fsh levels and put me on mild hrt with a view to follicle tracking and timed intercourse in about 3months time. Since being on hrt I've been taking my bbt and yesterday had small drop to 97.5 then today had sharp rise to 98.5. Obviously I'd love this to be a sign of ovulation but I can't believe it could be! I always had a short cycle of about 26 days. I know hrt isn't a route everyone wants to try but all considered it was right for us. Does anyone else have experience of ttc on hrt? Thanks!

Hi there, I was just searching the web for info & came accross your post. I'm 32 have a 2yr old no problem ttc, we ttc again but have had 3 m/c's within the last 18months and recently have been diagnosed with POF - basically its been 18 months of hell as I'm sure you know all too well! My FSH is 81, AMH 0. We are desperate for another child I have been told that's it's not possible but I refuse to give up (im prob in total denial! ha!) I'm taking DHEA & various vitamins. Consultant has prescribed HRT Elleste Duet 1mg tablets. I was wondering how you are getting on with HRT, would you recommend it?

    Hi hope

I started on the same hrt but it was changed at the pof clinic to oestrogen patch and progesterone tablet as apparently the patch is more friendly towards ovulation and ttc.

I actually can't believe how similar our stories are!!

The hrt has been good for me as ive got regular AF now and fsh is falling dramatically and oestrogen is rising. We've got an appointment at create in London next week to discuss natural ivf to see if there is any hope at all of another genetic child before we move on to a donor egg.

Are you being treated in a specialist clinic or just by your gp?

    Keep in touch!

Hi, that's interesting about the patch I read about that last night, i will definatly see about that. I'm looking forward to taking hrt to get my emotions back in check if nothing else! also been having hot flushes & feel so anxious! I feel about 60yrs! But I really don't want to have to take it until I'm 50'ish. Im hoping this may kick-start my system into to working again! ( im sure thats not how it works but makes sense in my head!)

I'm under a consultant gynacologist who specialises in early m/c's alto as far as he is concerned its the end of the road for me & it's a case of seeing how I get on with HRT!! but I have read so many sucsess stories I just can't believe it's the end for us. We went to a fertility clinic (Bourne) but were refused for treatment due to levels. DE was only option but I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around that at the moment.

I'm so happy I found your post (not that I would wish this on anyone!) as it is very similar. I haven't even told my friends as yet I just can't physically say it...& as our lil one is 2 we keep getting asked when the next one will be coming along!! I just want to curl up & cry. But it's all new news & a bit raw.

It's wonderful that your levels are steading out! You must be so releaved! I've not heard of that clinic I would be great to hear how you get on...I live in Essex so London is easy for us. Best of luck for the appointment next week really hope it goes well for you!

    Hi hope

Ask your gp to refer you to a pof clinic. Even tho I'm in Kent my nearest is London which is a hassle but they are really thorough and it means you get specialist care.

Create and lister in London seem to be the specialists for high fsh and low amh. If you look on fertility friends uk there is also a lot of information on serum in Athens which gets really good reviews. If we're unsuccessful with own egg we plan to go there for donor.

The questions about second child are really hard and I now know of four second babies due in September including my best friend so I'm dreading that month!

Think hard about telling people your dx. We don't intend to tell anyone including the child if we end up with donor egg so don't want people to know its the end of the road for my ovaries.

Sorry got to dash I've become a human climbing frame fir DS so can't type!!
    Karen
