Test results in: FSH more than doubled.

My new RE (who is very nice, and compassionate) drew 9 vials of blood yesterday. The hormone tests came in today. I only asked about FSH, LH, and Estradiol. WAY worse than the testing from December that set this ball rolling. Wow.

FSH was 45.4 and now 100.
LH was 33 and now 32.
Estradiol was 10 and new lab reports only that it is <20

Wow. I am not flipping out, but realizing this is really happening to me now. Unbelievable. One day normal, no concerns, next day POF. FSH 100?

Were they done on cd3? Your results doubled from Dec to Jan? Did you get AF in between? Your numbers are high, but if they were not done on cd3.....That is the only time they are true representation of where you are.

Lynn: while the numbers are definitely not good, there is more to it. My last FSH was 59 and can you believe that it was the first month in about 5 months that I ovulated on my own without the assistance of drugs??? So, there is more to it and the bad numbers don't necessarily dictate how any given cycle will end. Also, FSH fluctuates from cycle to cycle. I would like to see you go on BCP to bring on AF and retest again. I would not just take provera because your e2 has to be high enough for provera to work.

    Same here.

My FSH was 25 in December and jumped to 51 this month. I still ovulate on my own and my periods are regular, so I'm not sure why it went so high. Do you still menstruate?

I agree with Ali, and Rita. I would talk to your RE about these two things.

    My bad test results

My doctor actually told me that because i no longer menstruate, the tests do not have to be done on day 3. Even with Provera (it did work for me despite having extremely low estradiol in my body), day 3 would be meaningless since it was brought on with drugs.

I am actually putting this aside for now because my dad was just diagnosed with cancer yesterday. It is a bit too much to take on top of this. Thank you everyone for your input though, I appreciate it. I will be back after my appt next month to go over all the test results.

Lynn-I am so very sorry about your father's dx. I've been there and know how hard it is to manage everything. Your father and family are in my prayers.

I am so very sorry to hear about your father. *Hugs*

My FSH is all over the place as well (as you can see in my siggy). I've been getting regular cycles on my own, and even ovulating most of the time. I have zero symptoms of menopause. Unfortunately when I asked my RE about this he didn't have any clear answers.

    March 2010 diagnosed POF
Began HRT May 2012 (2mg Estrace and 5mg Provera daily)
