So, I thought I was eating healthy tonight...

DH and I (and the kids) had to run into town and get a new belt for the lawn mower, so we decided to have supper out. This is something we very seldom do. We decided on Steak and Shake because kids eat free on the weekends

I had 12 points left in the day. I really, really wanted a double cheeseburger with fries and a chocolate shake. Instead I ordered a grilled chicken breast sandwich, small fries and diet caffiene free coke. I knew the fries were going to be 7 points, leaving me with just the sandwich. Knowing WW points values, I assumed it would be 5-6 points, so I would be ok for the day...alas, no points left for a Saturday night beer, but oh well. I come home and look up the points value for the sandwich and it was 11.5!!! I couldn't believe it! I'm not sure how they figure that, the breast is not big at all, it's grilled, there is only lettuce and tomato, plus the bun and honey mustard. I only ate 1/2 the bun and the cook forgot the honey mustard so they brought me some on the side. I didn't use hardly any. I just looked up McD's grilled chicken and without the mayo, it is 6 points, it's the same size as Steak and Shake's. Crazy.

Thanks for listening to me vent!

That is why I hate eating out......seems like you just never know what they use to cook something..... So impossible to predict what is good for you. Hey I think you did good though cause I would have caved and got the cheeseburger!!

I heard on the radio this weekend that the Cheesecake Factory's Chicken and Biscuits entree has more calories than a KFC EIGHT PIECE BUCKET AND 5 BISCUITS!!!!!

Thankfully I have never ordered it but SHEESH! That is insane.

Wow, almost twice as many points at the McDonald's one - that is crazy. I hope it was twice as good! Still, I agree you did ok for making that choice instead of a cheeseburger.

OMG about the chicken and biscuit at Cheesecake Factory!!! They do serve gigantic amounts of food there.

That IS crazy! Losing the bun and sauce saved you some points, though. Good thinking doing that (even before you knew how many points)!

I agree, I would have ditched what I could too save some points. You do whatever you can when you have very little points to work with, KWIM?

Good job,
