Bit late on this discussion, but my dd and I just reread number 6. I think Harry is a horcrux, Hermoine mentions that the killing curse doesn't leave marks, so maybe voldy didn't want to kill Harry-just use him for a horcrux and the lightning scar is a result. I think the death eaters are all dead already and are imperius' or have taken the draught of the living dead. I don't think Dumbledore is really dead and Snape is good. Also I don't know that the snake is a horcrux but Gryffindor's sword could be, when Dumbledore was showing Harry his memory of Tom Riddle coming to his office asking for a teaching job even though he knew he would be denied, dd memory fades off before riddle leaves the room and harry thought he saw riddle's wand move right before it faded out, maybe he confunded dd so he could do the sword/horcrux thing. One more thing...when ginny and hermoine were guarding snape's office and flitwick came to get snape cause the deatheaters were in the castle ...flitwick was injured when he went into his office...I think snape confunded him because he burst in on him while he was working on something to prevent dd from dying...ok is that a stretch?! Can you tell we just finished it...Jessica doesn't want to hear my theories.....

Ready for Book 7?
I see I am waaaaaay late getting to this thread
. I am currently reading 'Half-Blood Prince' for the 4th time. I agree, the locket is at 12 Grimmauld Place. If you are like me, my first reading of a book is done quickly because I have to find out what is next and Rowling's writing style makes that possible. So, with subsequent readings, I pick up more of the subtle "clues".According to an interview with Rowling, Dumbledore is definitely dead. But- his portrait is now in the headmaster's office and the subject's can move from one portrait to another and to their "other" portraits in other locations. So. . . I think Dumbledore will to a degree be an active part. Also, the phoenix is significant. At any rate, I am looking forward to the next book. Shadowknows |

Dragging this thread out of its slumber as I just came upon it.........
Having just finished the series, its all still pretty fresh in my head. I honestly have no idea about the horcruxes......I did like the idea below that Harry may be one of them though, very thought provoking!! I simply *adore* Fred & George.......if I were in the series, I would seriously be dating one of them, lol. They are right up my alley. I was so proud of those boys when they made their exit from Hogwarts and gave heck to Prof. Umbridge!!! The gents that portray them in the movies are truly well-cast!!! I was very distraught over the death of Dumbledore, knew it was coming as ds had told me prior to reaching that part, but when it came to the service they had for him at Hogwarts, i had to set the book down and get a good cry out. I do wonder about Sirius and why he hadn't shown up in a portrait yet??? I detest "Snivellus" Snape!!! I thought all along that he was just pretending to be bad, but now believe he has proved himself otherwise. Althought since he had made the unbreakable with Narcissa, he did have to go thru w/ killing Dumbledore. But still. I also think he is a coward! I wonder though about Draco a lot..... I think Dumbledore really had him there at the end, Draco did waver and I believe that he could possibly be persuaded by the "other side". I don't think he is as strong & evil as he likes to portray himself. {sigh} still tapping my little toes waiting on book 7.......really though, i'll be so sad when its all said and done! |

I know what you mean! I've decided to re-read book 6 before the next one comes out, to refresh my mind. I'm a little fuzzy on the details of what happened last time. I'm on bedrest, so what else to I have to do?
I'm so excited for the next. Hopefully, we will be able to pre-order it very soon. Last edited by Ophelia Payne; 07-02-2007 at 09:35 AM. |

I am so glad to see this thread. I am a huge HP fanatic! I make it a point to reread the entire series before a new book comes out. I am currently rereading PoA. Here are some of my thoughts on book 7.
Snape: Te argument that Hagrid overheard between Snape and Dumbledore was DD telling Snap he must kill him to save Draco. DD knew he was dying already from his injury from the ring. Snape had numerous chances to kill Harry as he was fleeing Hogwarts but he did not. I believe you will see that he really is a double agent and working for the good guys in book 7. Horcruxes: As interesting as a theory it is that Harry might be one, I don't think he is. I think we will all be surprised to find out what the last horcrux is. As for the locket it is no longer in the Black residence. It was they came across it when they were cleaning. It was either thrown into the bag and taken by Kreacher or it was with the stolen goods that Mundungus took. RAB: This is Regulus Black, Sirius' brother. Dumbledore's Death: He is dead. He will be in book seven as he is a former Hogwarts Headmaster and they all have their portraits hung in the headmaster's office. Sirius: I believe, as much as it pains me, that he is in fact dead and will not return. He had to die just as Dumbledore had to die so that Harry could continue this battle on his own. Who will die in book 7: I don't think that any of the trio will die. I believe that Snape could die and that will be when the truth is revealed about him. I think poor lovable Hagrid will bite the dust and I think that the third character to die will be Voldemort. I believe Draco will become one of the good guys in the end. Just some of my thoughts.

RAB: This is Regulus Black, Sirius' brother.QUOTE] Excellent deduction! I racked my brains trying to think of who that was and couldn't think of anyone.....I'll bet your right. You know, I think it took it so hard about Snape killing DD that maybe i was too hasty in my judgement. I'll keep my mind open about theories of what goes on with him in the next book. But I agree with you about Draco. |

This is how the locket ended up in Grimwald Place. It is mentioned in book 5. The locket I mean.
