    Smile Male couple considering surrogacy

Anybody in a similar situation or have gone through that?
We just started reading up, and looking into a few agencies.
It all seems a little overwhelming.
We are in our mid-30s, and considering international surrogacy as well.

Welcome!! I'm a gestational surrogate for IF's. I delivered their DD in July of 2010 and am currently pg w/their twins. I delivered a girl for another set of IF's back in 2008 as well. Can't wait to follow along in your journey!!

Hi there. My partner and I actually had a friend who agreed to be our donor. In return, we planned on "returning the favor" by promising to be a surrogate for him and his partner. Ofcourse we were going to make it a legal agreement just to protect all of us, but it seemed like a great deal. The only problem that arose in our situation is that they didn't want me to be just a surrogate, they wanted me to be an egg donor and carry the child. I had a hard time accepting the fact that I would be carrying a part of me for 10 months and then giving it to his/her daddies. I know it's a double standard, but I couldn't go through with it. I told them both if they found an egg donor, I would be willing to carry the child, but I didn't want to donate my egg as well. That's where our agreement crumbled. It seemed like a great opportunity for them, because paying a surrogate is SO expensive, but it just didn't work out for us. I'm sure it is overwhelming. Where are you at in the process now?
