Has anyone read any good books lately?

I'm halfway through "The Girls from Ames" by Jeffrey Zaslow. It's not too shabby. Just curious if there were any other good titles out there for me to read next?

My friend just gave me "My Sister's Keeper" today. But I've been told that the recent movie is NOT like the book and people were disappointed. Guess I'll find out myself!

Any suggestions out there? Thanks!

I'm reading "TGFA" too and I'm having a little bit of a hard time keeping everyone straight. I keep flipping to the front of the book and looking at their little bio's! I'll be watching this thread for recommendations!

Knock Out

For me it was a page turner, got it finished quickly.

I'm into romance novels, went to a romance writer's conference last month and have a box of books signed by the authors to read.

I am re-reading "Moo" by Jane Smiley. She wrote "A Thousand Acres" and "The Greenlanders". Those are gorgeous beautiful, heart breaking books, this one is REALLY funny. It is about the a famous midwestern college. The cast of characters is just hysterical. I had forgotten how wickedly funny it was.

Moranda: I've read 90 minutes as well. Definitely something to think about

I haven't seen the movie yet, nor finished the book. But several people who have read it and watched it said the book was MUCH better. But it usually is that way anyway

I still plan on seeing the movie, but will wait until I can rent it on DVD. That way it won't be so "fresh" in my head from reading it right now.

OK, so I finished the book. Definitely did NOT expect what happened in the end. So it was a great book in that regard. I'll probably attempt the movie when it comes out in DVD format.
