Antidepressants causing trouble having a "O"

Anyone else with this issue? What can I do? I tried using a BOB but I am still having issues. Before I started the meds I had no problems at all.

    I had the same problem

    Hi Kitty,

I had the exact same problem 10years ago when I was on the SSRI called Luvox (an anti-depressant).

I wish I had a solution to share with you. Please express your concerns with your doctor, with so many types of drugs on the market there could be a similiar one with fewer side effects.

    Good luck,

I had that problem with Lexapro, which I told my doc and asked for something else ASAP! I never had a problem until I started taking that. I switched to Wellbutin and no more problems with that!!

Remeron or mirtrazapine does NOT have the effect on the libido. Now it will make you hungry and gain weight but it does NOT have the effect that most anti depressants have on your libido. Have you asked your Dr. about natural DHEA that is supposed to enhance your libido?

I was on effexor and it caused me the same trouble - couldn't O, which was a good enough reason to get well and get off of it! (Not saying that everybody can or should....but it was long enough to get me through my husband's job loss and my son's autism dx)

I was on effexor for over a year when I had my dd(age 8). I couldn't orgasm! Generally I am a very sexual person and like sex a lot. This was not much fun! I have had a few times of bad depression since that point and a few times I started to take a depression/anxiety medication but I am afraid of "losing my O". I just use xanax for anxiety as needed.
