Reciprocal Translocation

My husband was just diagnosed with a reciprocal translocation on 1 and 16. What does this mean in terms of my infertility? Can I still get pregnant?

I have a chromosomal translocation of 1 and 17. I have two beautiful, healthy boys, so YES you can still get pregnant.

Did you guys receive any kind of genetic counseling when your DH was dx?

The doctor explained the situation to us. Did you do PGD?

No. I didn't know about the translocation until after my 4th m/c about 1 1/2 years ago. I am now pg again (surprise) and am not ready for this roller coaster ride. I'm 37 and was not planning to get pg again.

If you do a search on this site for "translocation" you can bring up some threads about it and PGD, and you can PM some of the ladies who have done PGD.

Yeah....I am pretty sure that we are not going to do PGD and just do the amnio. The doctor feels that my chances to get pregnant are better if I do not do PGD as long as I understand that I have to abort any abnormal embryos after the amnio results are in.
