Do I really need baby aspirin(pg ment)MTHFR
I have had 4 losses in a row. Thing is, all were explained by things other than what the MTHFR would have done. The first, I was in a car accident and my water broke which led to an infection which eventually killed the baby. I was about 20 weeks. Clearly, this was not MTHFR. The 2nd one, I never would have known I was pregnant if I had not tested so early. According to blood work, my beta hcg never got above a 9. With the 3rd, my betas were not doubling enough and I went to 9 weeks. We saw the heartbeat at 6 weeks. But the baby did not really grow during this time and it was suspected that the baby had trisomy 16 (based on the sonograms) but it was never verified because the chromosome sample sent out did not grow out. The 4th was supposed to be ectopic. I stayed pregnant for a couple months, but my HCG was barely inching up and my progesterone was born to non-pregnant norms. My hcg peaked at 99.8 about 6 weeks in to the pregnancy and then it started going down.
I got pregnant again right away and am now 7w2d. We saw the heartbeat last week. Thing is, I am having a lot of side effects from the baby aspirin. I had been told the baby aspirin doesn't hurt the baby at all..but if this were true, then why was it on all the don't take lists? My limbs are falling asleep. It is so bad that I wake up at least every half hour. One time, I woke up and found that my hand would not work as the circulation was so run out of it. My shoulders will just be pounding in pain from the circulation being cut off. Now I am worried what this must be doing to the baby. My doctor admits that she does not have much experience with MTHFR and I will be seeing a perinatal doctor in a few weeks. But in the meantime, I see her tomorrow and am thinking I should tell her we need to stop the baby aspirin or cut it back to half. She is a very nice doctor who generally listens to her patients (to me anyway, so I assume everyone). I just wanted to run it by the "experts" here first. I need to add that I already successfully had 4 children. I also have just 1 copy of the MTHFR-C gene.

Hi, Sorry no one has responded. I am not an expert, but do know a lot about immune issues as I have not been able to carry a baby due to two copies of MTHFR-C gene. I honestly do not think you have an issue that is causing m/c if you have already carried four children. It shouldn't hurt to take baby aspirin....not sure if that is causing you numbness....maybe you need to be adjusted by a chiropractor. I take b/a and folic acid everyday and it has never caused me any issues. If you can, I would keep taking it just as a precaution, and find out what is causing the other issues. Hugs, and hope this little bean stays strong and snuggled in you.

I also take folic acid/B vitamins/Baby aspirin daily for my MTHFR and have no side effects from it. I have had 3 previous m/c's and haven't had a single problem or bleed at all this pregnancy so for me I think the new daily regimen has helped a lot.

I m/c twice and then carried twice to term.... was NOT on the baby ASA the first two pregnancies.... took it till delivery on the second two pregnancies. I never had any real diagnosis of any issues(other than pcos and male factor) but for me, it worked. The only real side effect would be stomach irritation and with that low of a dose, it is highly unlikely.
