Frozen embryos already affected if not treated for MTHFR during IVF cycle?

I was wondering if I have to worry about the frozen embryos we have stored...I just found out I have compound heterozygous MTHFR...is there a way to say this when speaking with docs???.....

and wonder...since I didn't take the folic acid I needed...does that mean that the embryos may already be affected by trisomy or some other genetic abnormality and should not be used....or does it only impact them once they implant???? Thanks!

Hi - I just found out I am hetero C for MTHFR. I had the same concerns about our frozen embryos from a previous (before I knew I had MTHFR) cycle. I asked my regular RE and another RE (see my post at http://www.websitetoolbox.com/mb/hunt123?forum=30885) and both said that the embryos are fine. They will (as any will) have a 50% chance of inheriting the MTHFR mutation, but I was told they are the same quality is if they were conceieved while on the required suppliments.

I hope that is true! If you find out anything else, please let me know.
