Just diagnosed with compound heterozygous MTHFR with questions...

I just got my test results back from my primary care doctor who has no idea what they mean....waiting for a call from an ob/gyn but not sure they will understand it either..

THis is what came up positive...

I am compound heterozygous for the C677T mutation and the A1298C mutation.

I have had 3 IVF's, 1 BFN, 1 chemical and just had a miscarriage at 10wk after seeing the heartbeat 3 times. We have been TTC for about 2 1/2 years. I am 36 and DH is 38.

What does this mean in terms of treatment (IVF)

Will I need heparin/lovenox or only BA and folic? Since, I am not homozygous, do you think they will still try this????

What does it mean for general health concerns? Should I have my parents tested and if so which tests should they do?

Can I take BCP's anymore?

Sorry for all the questions, just can't reach my RE so I just felt like I needed to know....do you think that is what caused my losses???

I was negative for most everything else...except something called Protime/INR Ration was slightly high....Factor V and Prothombin all negative and homocysteine was normal. They didn't test APA's and the homocysteine was not fasting and was 3 weeks after my miscarriage if that matters...

No immune testing done.....

thanks for any advice you can give!!!! I plan on reading through the forum now, but would really appreciate any answers you may have...I'm very nervous...just about to start and FET....and would need to start BCP's...doc hasn't called back yet.
