Folic acid and cancer
Hi, I was just wondering what people here think of the study that came out in June that linked high doses of folic acid with colon cancer:
http://www.forbes.com/health/feeds/h...out605274.html It sounds like it was mostly a problem for people who had already had polyps in their colon, but I was just wondering if anyone here had read up on in more and had anything to say about it. With the super high doses that are being recommended for us, if there was a connection it could be important for us.

Y'know, lately I feel like those of us with genetic clotting factors -- are way out on on the understanding of medicine. I mean one minute my RE is saying my double mutation of the mthfr gene is a problem, then a year later, they are saying well maybe not.
And everyone says stay on the folic acid. Gotta love this. I'll be asking my RE about it. I am sure that he's clueless as usual. I mean he doesn't act clueless but you can just tell that they really aren't sure what my gene does. The only one who seems to know is the hematologist. I guess I could call him. UGH. Thanks for the info. Kelly kcmjpm |
