    Anyone pregnant after reccurrent losses?

I'm wondering if anyone has stories to share about finally having a healthy pregnancy after recurrent losses. How many losses did you have before baby finally stuck? What were your losses like and how did this pregnancy differ?

I recently had my third loss after an FET and I can't help but wonder how many more FETs its going to take until we hit "a good egg". We have 7 frosties left and it's so frustrating because they were ALL graded perfect. I have no uterine abnormalities, my RPL screen came back normal and I have been able to get pregnant each time - it's the staying pregnant part that is the challenge.

My first loss was a blighted ovum (no spotting, cramping - total shock). The second one was a chemical pg (had low betas from the start - no surprise). The recent one was very frustrating. I had very high betas from the get-go and they tripled every 2 days. My 5w2d scan showed a gest. sac & yolk sac measuring right on track, then I started spotting and it was all over by 6w.

lulu2, I'm so sorry for your losses hun. Gentle hugs.

So, you have no immune issues or anything like that? I know a few women whom I've seen having to take extra progesterone for the first trimester and/or lovenox injections. I really don't know what to tell or say to you hun. A blighted ovum and the chemical are really just unlucky. And then the most recent one, is devastating for sure.

There is a poster on this board TTCyears, whom had quite a few losses before she finally had her baby girl just last year. She posts on the ectopic board and the miscarriage board (both under this section). You might want to touch base with her if you'd like.

Again, gentle hugs to you and I hope that you find a protocol to work for you and bring home your "take home baby" soon.

    Hi lulu,

I'm in a similar situation to you except all my pregnancies have been natural and happened right away. I seem to be one of the "hyper fertile" women who loses more frequently than most. My first was also a B/O, discovered at 12 weeks (ugh! I had all the symptoms like crazy too), the second ended quickly at 6 1/2 weeks (almost no symptoms), the third was a MMC lost at 9 weeks (baby measured 8 weeks). We did genetic testing on him and found out he was a male and genetically normal. I've been through all the recurrent m/c testing and everything's come up normal. After a 3 month break, we recently found out we are pregnant again. I'm currently about 5+3 (some confusion on dates as I believe this one was a later implanter). This pregnancy I have been doing everything I can to stay positive. My betas have been on the low end (11dpo = 26, 13dpo = 47, 19dpo = 197) but are doubling within the 48-72 hour range. I've had a couple major freakouts after my HPTs were slow to darken (which, as I discovered, was a result of my low & slower doubling betas), but my doctor was reassuring in noting that there can be a huge variance in beta levels in early pregnancy. He's more interested in when my betas get into the 2000+ range, and checking things out with an ultrasound. For the moment I'm trying to stay calm, positive, and hopeful by reading lots of encouraging stories, doing positive affirmations, and trying to live by the rules of "The Secret" I figure it's worth a shot.

Anyway, just thought I'd stop in and say hello. Hope you are doing well - would love to hear an update from you!

HI, I am in a similar situation. I have done 2 ivf's with BFN, then 4 IUI with BFN. For several reasons we decided to use donor embryos. First FET my HCG was 207, but was a chemical preg. This time my HCG was 1280, but now I've miscarried at 7 weeks. I had some immunology workup done prior and my RE put my on baby aspirin and heparin for clotting issues. So I dont know what else to do, if its just bad luck or if there is more to it than that. I agree its so frustrating and so heartbreaking and sad.

I'm sort of in the same boat. I have a 6 yr. old daughter who was a surprise pregnancy. Then I went on to have 4 mc's. This all started when I was 35 and I'm 39 right now and pregnant for a 6th time after using a donor egg. I had all the RPL testing done and it turned out I had MTHFR which I take folgard and a baby aspirin for. AFter the 3rd mc we tried doing an ivf cycle with PGD, but I only produced 2 eggs and both were abnormal so it looked like it was an issue of getting the right egg. It's hard not to worry about another mc, but our first beta came back really strong and I'm waiting to hear back on my second beta.

Now for some positive encouragement I have a good friend who has had 6 mc's in the last 3 yrs. and she is pregnant with her 9th child. She told me she thought for sure she would mc this pregnancy and was almost shocked when her Dr. told her there was still a strong heartbeat when she had a bleeding episode at 8 weeks. SHe's now 30 weeks pregnant. When I was getting my blood drawn this morning I was talking to the nurse and he told me that his wife had 5 mc's before they had their son. He told me their Dr. advised them to just keep trying after all their testing came back as normal. Then my cousin has a friend who had 5 mc's and she went on to have a healthy baby girl.

    There is always hope...

lulu2: I had four losses before becoming pregnant with this little guy, and I will tell you I am definitely not 20! I had similar issues that you described going through--the first was a FET that seemed great--all betas looked perfect, u/s was great, then went for a pre appointment for the nucal test and discovered baby had passed away...we were devestated. Had a D&E... next pregnancy was a shocker as it happened totally naturally--initially betas were great, saw the HB but I began spotting...my regular OB was out with shoulder surgery and I was calling the office BEGGING for them to check my progesterone, see me, etc. I finally had an u/s at 8 weeks and saw the HB, but in my gut I just knew... went back about 2 weeks later and again, baby had stopped growing. D&E number 2 We then went for our last three embies transferred and were again devestated to get a BFN. I then AGAIN became pregnant naturally, but right from the start knew it didn't look/feel right--betas were great but I started spotting and this time we had switched OB's and he monitored me weekly, and that loss was found at about 8 weeks--again after seeing a HB. Tried desperately to avoid a D&E this time but ended up having to have #3. Then we went through a fresh IVF cycle and I had a chemical. Essentially at that point DH and I threw in the towel and figured another baby was not in the cards for us...low and behold I became pregnant naturally and this time, although it hasn't been easy and I was fearing m/c # 5 at every turn, he is a fighter! I started P17 shots at 16 weeks and required an emergent cerclage at almost 20 weeks, but with bed rest and the cerclage, I am expecting to make it to my scheduled c-section Oct. 2nd... I think medical interventions help, but I do believe it's out of our hands in many respects and as the saying goes, "in God's time not our time". It can happen...I wanted to be on lovenox and weekly Hcg shot along with preogesterone, which is my RE's RPL protocal, but my OB felt strongly just a baby aspirin was enough, and ultimately, he was right. I say never give up, keep trying, do anything medically possible, and then pray Good luck and I can't wait to see your post that you have a keeper!!!
