I think it's too early to see too much more than what you saw. At 5 weeks 4 days with DS#2 there was a yolk and gestational sac but no fetal pole or HB. Exactly 1 week later, there was a hb. So, a few days, especially another week will make a huge difference.
Sending positive sticky vibes and thoughts to you hun. Keep us updated.Me 42/DH 43

We just saw an empty gestational sac at 6 weeks and a week later fetal pole, yolk, and heartbeat!! I think it was way to early to really see anything. I think most doctors won't even do an u/s before six weeks because it is to early. Good luck at your next appt.

Way too early. With my twins at 5w we only saw two little black blobs with nothing else. They are now 5 years old.

I also think it is way too early to see anything.
Plus, ER doctors are not really trained to do/read early ultrasounds. With my last pregnancy I had some bleeding around 6 weeks and the ER doctor said I was most likely going to miscarry. That baby is now almost 4 months old. If you are really worried I would call your RE or ob and see if they can move your ultrasound up a bit. You really won't see much of anything until 6 weeks along though.
Keep us updated!

Poor Sam! I think ER docs know very little about early ultrasounds. My clinic won't even do one until 7 weeks, which is the point when the heartbeat can be seen.. I wouldn't worry at all, your HCG looks great. Here's to a very good U/S in 6 days!

Dawn - yes, they're very excited. They've been rooting for another 8 babies for some time (don't worry, this is the last one!!!). I've asked them where we would put eight more children in our house and they've been very creative with the answers! DD is hoping for a girl, says she already has two brothers, but no sisters. She does have a point!
