strollers-are you getting double stroller for baby and older sibling?

so I am wondering who is getting a double stroller with a gap of nearly 3 yrs between the children?

my DS will be 2yrs 10m when baby is born, and I am not sure if I should buy a double stroller for the 1st year, or just upgrade my existing single stroller?

I am able to get a new stroller for FREE as compensation from an airline for breaking my this summer. so money isnt the issue. its more do I need it?

DS usually takes his nap in the stroller, and we travel quite a bit, I travel a lot alone with DS(and then afterwards with baby aswell I guess)

WWYD?

When we had our 2nd DD, 17 months apart, I opted for a double stroller. After going back and forth and researching we bought the Bumbleride Indie Twin. Now with being PG again, I tossed the idea of getting the triple with the sit n ride... After putting more thought into it, I decided to stick with what I have. My DD wll be almost 3 when this baby arrives and she likes to walk or I guess I should say run. Unless, your DD is actually sits in her stroller and doesn't fuss than I would look into a double stoller but if she likes her independence, I would just upgarde and be done...

Hi!
I voted for 'other'. Since having my first (this will be #4), I've become somewhat of a minimalist, lol. Less is better in my opinion . Since your son likes the stroller and doubles are that much bulkier, harder to steer and tougher to get in small places, I would keep the stroller you have and look into getting a baby carrier (such as a sling or baby bjorn) for your newborn. My kiddos will be almost exactly 3 years apart and that is what I am doing (plus I have a 5 and a 7 year old and often go places with all the kids by myself). Baby carriers give you the free hands and still have your baby close by. Also at 3 yrs old, I suspect your ds will not be spending 100% of the time in the stroller, then your little one can catch a ride.
Congrats on your pregnancy!

Hi, my ds will be 4yrs. 7months when the little brother arrives, so I am getting the Joovy Caboose Ultralight. It is a single stroller, but has a step in the back, with a velcro seat pad that can be put down if ds wishes to sit. We enjoy places like the Bronx Zoo and the Central Park Zoo and I like to option for ds to sit or stand when we go to these places. I also have a 2 year old godson, and I like the option of having ds walk, have my godson sit/stand, and baby in front if we go on outings. I also have my old Peg Perego single stroller that I am hanging on to.

If I were you , I would def try the Caboose, or a double. I like having options!

I voted other, also. DD will be 27 months when this one is born and I think we're going to get the Sit N Stand by BabyTrend. She isn't much for riding in the stroller these days and this will give her a chance to hop on and off as she pleases. We mostly do short trips though, the zoo, etc.

My daughter hated the stroller. From the moment she started walking, she wanted to be on her feet. We only used our stroller at the airports while traveling. So, it was a complete waste of money for us.

I think I will probably get a double stroller? My DS will be almost 2 when this baby is born. Thinking I will look on Craigslist? Or if I can get a good deal I will buy new.
