    Chiropractor OK??

Is it OK to go to a chiropractor while pg?? I have been good about sleeping on my left side (which I normally hate!!) but it has been making my neck hurt and giving me headaches. Is it OK to go to the chiropractor to relieve some of the discomfort? Or should I wait and talk to my OB first? Thanks.

I have had neck pain for quite awhile and had severe migraines from it. I talked to my OB and she said I could go to the chiropractor. I have been going 3 times a week for about a month now and it has helped tremendously!! In fact this week I'm going to go 2 times and if that goes good then next week maybe once and then see how it goes after. I was nervous about it at first, but I think if you have a chiropractor that is experienced taking care of pg women then it is a great benefit. He adjusted my upper back too and it has done wonders for my neck and back pain. I only have mild headaches once in awhile now and not the migraines several times a week.

I was told that I shouldn't, it might be because I am having twins and have more relaxin. I do go to physical therapy twice a week, it ahs done wonders for my back.

I have been going to physical therapy for the same reason... they are working on my neck in order to relieve severe headaches that I have been having.

I would think that as long as you go to someone who is experienced and knowledgeable about working with pg women, you should be OK.

I hope you feel better soon!

I would call your OB, but it should be safe. I would just make sure you go to a good one that knows what they are doing with a preg woman..

I've been going to the chiro the entire pg. Instead of the harder "popping" adj. she uses a hand held tool I'm not sure of the name. It's made a wonderful difference and I've had no siatica (sp?) pain this pg.
