Any of you experience shrinking breasts at 30 weeks????

This seems very strange to me, and therefore worrisome... I noticed, what to me seemed like a drastic change in my breasts 2 days ago - they had shrunk back at least one size, and it seemed to happen overnight. I debated with my DH the last 2 days about it - he said I was crazy. So I thought maybe because my belly is growing that it was an optical illusion that it seemed that my breasts were smaller. But I tried on bras that I was busting out of 3 days ago, and now they fit! So now I'm worried!

Anyone ever experience this later in pg and can reassure me??? Luckily I have an OB appt this afternoon, but wanted to check in with you gals...

    Thanks,
    Kay

This happened to me as well. I'm usually a 34B and I was up to a 36C and I was starting to bust out of them. I guess it was around 30 weeks that the 36C is very comfortable again. I was a little worried as well as it seems others on my DD Board were up to the DDs...but everything is fine with the baby....and I'm a lot more comfortable than I was!

I am 30w and having the same thing and have been worrying myself over it! I told my DH the other night that my boobies were shrinking and he just gave me the "look" like I am overanalyzing yet another thing. I hope it is normal- please post what your OB says about it.

Thanks for replying - it immediately made me feel better that others had experienced this.

So, as I suspected, the OB said that fluxuations happen, and she never heard that any shrinkage was tied to any problems. The baby was fine (thank goodness) and all else was well. She is going to check with a lactation specialist and let me know, but said there is nothing to worry about.

Hope that reassures you two also! I guess the good news, is we don't have to go buy yet a couple more bras the next size up... at least for now.

    Thanks again!

i can't really comment on the shrinkage, only b/c with my last pg i got pretty comfortable wearing sports bras which i wore thru my entire pg. and they will take you into the next size unlike a more "fitted" bra.

but i can tell you this...i had THEEEE sorest breasts during my last pg imaginable. where as i thought they would've felt better after the first trimester, they just went right on hurting. i noticed they felt completely fine in my 30th week, and thought it was odd. i remember saying to my dh, "great, they feel so much better now and i'm gonna give birth in 10 weeks....what's the joke?" the soreness didn't come back until i engorged. so after reading your post, i figured i probably did shrink a bit too at that point, because it's the swelling that causes the discomfort.
also at 30w, you'll start going thru hormonal fluctuations again, so it sounds like totally normal stuff. i think we tend to compare one pg to another (if having been pg before) and when things are different, our alarms go off. i'm sure all is fine. try not to worry.
