Little Nervous

Well here I go again. Last month I was nervous for my 16 week appt. and hearing my baby's heartbeat (which I did and it was 140) and now next week is the level 2 u/s where they check all the organs and make sure the baby is fine. I guess it is going to always be something but for some reason this one makes me really nervous. Maybe because it's so important. Hopefully we can find out the sex of the baby but I can't even get excited about that until I know baby is fine. Every month I tell myself as soon as I go to this appt. and get reassured I will just relax and be fine and than the next thing starts to come up and I get all nervous again.

Anyone else feel the same way.

I did and everything turned out to be fine. I'm sure things will go fine for you as well but I'll keep you and your pumpkin in my prayers.

I think once you get the news that you're pg, the worrying starts and NEVER stops. It's just a different thing to worry about. Worrying about getting through the "scary" first 12 weeks. Worrying about hearing the HB, about any u/s's, about the birth..... Then it turns into, s/he's been asleep too long.....are they still breathing, are they eating enough, soiling enough diapers, illnesses. Then it turns into starting school and so on. My oldest (6y/o) is going on his first big field trip today, his first time in the big city w/o DH and I, he'll be gone all day and I'm sitting here a nervous wreck! LOL I'm sure that even when they are adults we will worry about them. So, just take a few deep breaths and try to enjoy as best as you can......because the worrying never ends!

Thank you everyone for your encouraging words. I truly understand now when my mom says you worry about them from the minute you conceive and it never stops even when they are adults. I think what makes it worse is that this is my first pregnancy so everything is totally new to me. I will update after the u/s. It's this Wednesday.

I could have written your post! I worried alot, esp. as an appt. drew near. At 16w I was terrified of the OB not finding a h/b. At 20w instead of being excited about the Level2, I was a nervous wreck b/c I know they look for abnormalities. For the quad screen b/w, I cried all day. But after the Level 2, I stopped. When you feel the baby moving about each and every day, the worries start to fade away. I'm not even worried about L&D! My mother does enough of that for both of us! Dh is more concerned about not passing out!

Good luck, and you'll be fine!

I was like that too! It is definately normal, and even more so for those of us who have struggled to just be a normal pregnant lady. I fretted before each and every appt about the heartbeat. Actually, I am now 38 weeks tomorrow and STILL worry that something awful is going to happen! Its all part of mommyhood I hear

I felt this way for a long time. I thought that I would never stop being worried. But now im now 23 weeks and I feel more relaxed because I feel the baby moving. While I still worry at times, it doesn't preoccupy me.

Thanks for everyone's reply's. It calmed me down a bit knowing I'm not the only one going through this. I have two more days until the Level 2 u/s and I think after that (as log as everything is ok!!!!!!!) I will stop worrying so much. This is my first pregnancy and I am heavy so I have been told by several people (some heavy themselves) that you don't feel the baby move until later like at week 20 or so. Once that happens I will be much calmer.

Hiya! Congrats on your little one!

Just to let you know. I weighed about 340 when i got pg with my dd. I didnt feel her moving until around the 24th week and DH didnt feel her moving until about the 30th week. Even once you feel the baby move, the worry morphs into something else. Like how long it was from the last time you felt them move! The worry never ends. But what a great pay off for all that worry

Everything will be fine im sure!
