So I go in for a 6 week ultrasound, because of achevieving pregnancy through IUI apparently this is protocol. So they find the embryo, beating little heart and all, but the RE says there is a "bleed" behind it????? He says not to worry but there is a 10-12% chance of MC, but he is not worried and he is a worrier. I have 2 corpus luteum's which one is producing such the stitch in my side I really thought something was wrong, but was told that it is very normal to have discomfort. So I suffer from panic and anxiety and all I was told to do was not to worry, abstain from relations, lifting, and do not put anything in my vagins????Huh??then where to carry my spare change.????Trying to find some light in this, they are assuming the "bleed" could be from implatation and will be reabsorbed by my body and that I very well could have had it with DD 3 years ago but no one would have known because the 1st US was at 4 months. Yikes!!! Anyone have some insight on this???? Colleen

colleen......first of all LOL at your sense of humor!!
i've heard of this many times with no negative reprecussions. please try not to make yourself sick with worry. there's so much that goes on that doesn't have to be negative. of course it's just instinctual for us to worry. with my first pg i was having a little bleeding right around the same time. i scheduled my u/s with my OB for 2 days later and of course when i went in had stopped, so they weren't actually able to see the source of the blood. we say the HB and my doc told me the baby was attached in a good spot and not to worry. i never had any reprecussions and delivered a perfect baby 9 mos later did your doc say they'd do a follow up?

Thanks so much Dina!!! IT seems like words of encouragement from a someone who has had the same sort of thing happen just really helps. My family is very supportive but are the types not to worry until they are told to worry. So, they said come back 4/13 for another BETA and US, my BETAS are excellent BTW and they were please to see the HB. They said to call them if I actually have bleeding from the vagina or pain. So here I sit trying to explain to a 3 year old that Mama can't run around like a crazy lady for a little while. LOL Colleen

Colleen,
I had an u/s in the 5th week, and my dr said there was "chorionic bleeding" at the site of implantation, but nothing to worry about, it would be re-absorbed by my body, blah, blah ... everything your doc said. Of course, I freaked out, since I'd had a m/c 5 months earlier. I ended up changing docs in part because of the way he handled this (I'm an engineer, and like lots of explanation about the "hows" and "whys" of things -- don't just tell me "not to worry"). But it turns out, he was right. I had a second u/s around 11 weeks I think, and it was still there, but at about 1.2 cm, which is small. My new doc wasn't worried about it either, and at my 16w u/s, it was all gone. I'm now at 23w6d, and everything's going just fine. I know it's hard not to worry, and there is a SMALL chance it could cause a problem, but I do believe that in many cases it resolves itself. I think the bleeds that are more likely to cause problems are large (and are referred to as subchorionic hematomas), and my guess is yours isn't large or the doc would be more worried. FYI, I never had any vaginal bleeding, but I think some people do. Shana |

Thanks Shana
I too like further explanation, I want to know how, why etc. Thanks for the kind words, and I am just trying not to worry but its just so hard!!!! I really appreciate it. Makes me wonder if I had it last time around with my DD and they just didn't see it because my first US with her was at 4 months??? Ugggghhhh. Glad you are doing well and thanks so much!!! Colleen |
