spotting?

Hi

I am 6w1d today. Starting 3 days ago, I noticed a small amount of brown spotting. The last two days I have had an episode of red spotting. It was a small amount and only happened once each day. The brown spotting continues. Also (sorry if TMI), I have had heavier than normal CF. It is dark yellow-brownish in color. I was having menstral-like cramping for about 4 days but that has stopped. Now just twinges in the pelvic area on and off.
My beta 16dp3dt was 157. I had it checked again 4 days later and it was only 338. That makes a doubling time of 88hrs (YUCK!).
I did have the 2nd beta drawn at a different lab. Dr. does not seemed to concerned. Told me to relax until U/S a week from Monday. Anyone else experience a similar spotting pattern?

Thanks,
Malarie

The best thing to do is wait to see what the u/s shows. I just wanted to wish you good-luck.

Hi Malarie,
I too had spotting 5-6 wks. and then again at 12 wks.
Mine was brown put was quite a bit.
Both times it ended up being fine.
Try not to worry-(I know it is hard...).
I will be sending positive thoughts to you and your baby.
Good luck at the u/s.
Andrea

I also had spotting from the 5th week till the 14th week! My OB said that brown blood is usually old blood coming away from the cervix and it is nothing to be really worried about, apprantly 30% of pregnant woman have this problem. Sorry if this is TMI but am try to put your mind at rest, I also had a large bright red bleed at 7 weeks. When I say large I mean running down your leg large, I rushed to our Woman's Hospital and they told me that it was not what they would consider a large bleed but did an internal check and an u/s and found that all was ok.
Try not to worry to much ( easier said than done ) and get some rest.

I too had quite a bit of spotting with this pregnancy. Actually it looked like a full fledged period for about a day, then tapered off. I was CONVINCED that I was losing the pregnancy especially after 2 miscarriages and no live births. THankfully the little guy hung in there and I am now 29 weeks pg. My RE told me spotting is can be normal in early pregnancy adn can be attributed to many things.

thank you for the replies. I feel a lot better. I spoke with my RE and he said light bleeding is very normal in early pregnancy.
