Lung Maturity test results

I am having an amino on wednesday to determine lung maturity, but the nurse said she doesn't know when my results will be ready. Does anyone have any idea how soon results will be available?

My OB offered me one after I hit 37 1/2 weeks to check for lung maturity and then an early c-section(due to 5 previous c-sections), I was under the impression he would get the results within the day, at least this is how he made it sound?

Your so close to your due date, only 6 days left right, why is your Dr. doing one this late?

My amnio for lung maturity was only a day before my scheduled c-section so I would think they must have the results fairly quickly.

Very quickly...usually same day but not more than 24 hours.

Good luck with your amnio... Hoping that you'll be a mommy real soon. I know your ready and who knows maybe you'll just have that baby before Wednesday.

Mine were ready in an hour or two, I was induced right after that. Good luck!

Wow, so quick. Ob said he won't have them until the next day so, if she is ready it will be thursday at 5 pm at the earliest or friday.. If not I guess will stick with the original scheduled day of Monday the 21st.

Just curious why you are having the amnio??? I know it is for the lung maturity but when is your due date.??? I just question the risk of the procedure if you are having to wait for the results and then end of having the baby when already scheduled. Just something to think about. I am not sure what the risk of the procedure is but can imagine there is some risk... Please ask and decide if it is worth the wait. Just a thought from someone who wants the best for you and baby...

mine took about seven hours, but they screwed up and had to run it twice.
