Hi ladies, Im normally on the IVF board but I had a question about FRED. I did a test on Saturday, 9dp3dt. It came back with a light line. I did another FRED today, 11dp3dt. It came back with a light line again(maybe a slight bit darker but that could be my wishful thinking.)
My question is did any of you have lines that didn't seem to get darker but you beta #'s were okay? I'm so afraid of a chemical. I've had 2 in the last 2 yrs. My dx is old eggs.
Thanks for the help. I hope to be joining you over here soon.
Ale

I also answered on the IVF board. My FRED lines were almost non existant. I tried another brand and got a faint positive. My beta, much to my shock was 259 (based up on the "darkness" of the lines and the fact they didn't get darker you would thought somewhere in the 25 range).
How dark they are doesn't mean anything.marya

Same here, I got a faint line with this test at 13DPO (althought it showed up immediately, no waiting) and another faint line (really no darker, although I was hoping!!) the next day at 14 DPO with FMU. My beta was 167 on 14DPO, and 486 (with no darker line) on 16 DPO. A line is a line

When I used FRED I have not had a great experience. I tested at 8dp3dt using a FRED and there was a VERY faint line, I then got a digital and that came up PREGNANT straight away. I also tried ept (as I had one positive and one not sure) and the line was much darker than on the FRED.
Sure enough my Beta came back 2 days later (10dp3dt) at 97.8 and a BFP.
I am now 36 weeks tomorrow.
I am wishing you THE BEST OF LUCK for a BFP.
let us know what happens.
This was my first IVF cycle and I too transfered 2 embies on a 3DT
Good Luck!

Hi
I have done all kind of HPT. I figured after being PG after so many tries lets give all the HPT's a try. I have to say that some lines were very lighter on one day and then the next day darker and then lighter again. I called the company and they told me as long as there was a positive line not to worry about the darkness or lightness.
I found the digital one most reassuring as the words PG comes on. No second guessing lines. Wishing all the best

I took FRED's on 8, 9 and 10dp3dt and all were faint, much lighter than the control line. I was convinced that if my beta came back postive it would be very low, but my husband, who is a scientist, kept saying the color of the line means nothing. He was right, my Beta on 10dp3dt was 214 and I will be 14 weeks with a singleton on Thursday.
Good luck to you!Jen 36, DH 36

I, too, had issues with FRED. I took one at 7dpiui (yes, I know better), and had a definite +. Went to my doctor for beta, which was <2 (heartbreaking). Took a different test the night of 11 dpiui (on-line 25 hcg test strips), which was faint +. Sent dh out to get 4 boxes of various tests (answer, clearblue easy, FRED). The only ones that DIDN'T come up faint + was the FRED!!!
So, my advice: get a clearblue easy! It was, by far, the easies to read!

Ladies, thanks for the all advice. I just wanted to update. My beta came back on 12dp3dt at 218. So... I will forever preach not to pay attention to the darkness of the lines.
Just curious, my RE is having me come back on Friday (15dp3dt) for my followup beta. Is that normal? At this point I'm not complaining. I'm so tired of having to arrange things to go to the RE's office. I'm just wondering when the rest of you ladies went back for your followup beta?
If my beta looks good on Friday, I'll be joining you ladies over here.
Thanks again.
Ale
