Ok my 5 yr old daughter told me she showed her pee pee to a boy who said he would not marry her if she didn't. This is the second time this happened. The first time it was another boy who asked to see her pee pee. This time they actually touched each others pee pee.
This happened on the bus at summer camp. Is this normal? I am totally freaking out here.

I'm sure it's normal "I'll show you mine, if I show you yours" but I'd alert the camp folks that they should keep an eye. I would definitely have "the talk" with my dd so she knows this is inappropriate and make sure the boys parents do the same.
I would make sure when talking to dd that you make sure she tells you if it happens again. Let her know she isn't in trouble - its the best way to instill that trust because I would be a little paranoid about the boy. You just never know...Kristen E

I remember like it was yesterday, a boy offering to chauffeur me around for the rest of the day the back of his trike If I showed him mine. I was like "sounds like a good deal to me". When I got home I was so proud of my negotiation skills that I bragged to my mom that I told him where to go and he peddled me around all day and all I had to do was show him min parts. My mom was not pleased. 3 to about 6 is the height of this behavior. It is totally normal but it doesn't hurt to reinforce that they are private parts for a reason. Sam was terrible. He talked about just every girl he knew into dropping trow.
Did anyone see "Babies", there was that scene where the baby keeps lifting up her older brother's loincloth and looking at herself to compare notes and her brother kept putting her loin down with this expression like "we don't DO that". It's pretty universal.Last edited by BC-lisa in venice; 08-01-2012 at 03:55 PM.

I had that same bargain with a kid my age when I was about 6 or so. We were just curious (there was no touching).
When an older boy -- about 12 -- tried to get in on the action, we ran home and tattled.
I'd just make sure your daughter understands that if you've seen one, you've seen them all, and if anyone any older than her wants to see, they need to be tattled on. Am I making sense? I wouldn't be worried that they did a show-and-tell, just that someone older might take advantage of that curiosity.

Totally normal, but what I would be concerned with is the lack of supervision. For 5 year olds, don't they have someone always watching them?

I actually don't think it's all that normal. I'd have several talks with your daughter about what's appropriate, then check with the staff on why the kids weren't supervised.
