What is going on in my kids' bathroom???

It smells like urine ALL the time. I clean it with bleach cleaner or Pinesol and the next day the smell is back! I have checked all around the toilet to make sure it wasn't just a problem with their "aim" and there's nothing, just the constant smell. Could it be a problem in the plumbing? We are in an upstairs apartment so I am not sure how the plumbing runs through. Could it be a leak under the toilet? Maybe leaking into the flooring under the tile? Wouldn't the downstairs neighbor be having a leak in her ceiling though? I am just at wits end here. I called the maintenance man, but he has yet to make an appearance.... as usual. Any ideas?

Do you have any towels that are wet or wash clothes that could cause a bad smell.

My sister had that in her powder room when they first moved into the house. No matter how much she cleaned the smell of urine would come back. It wasn't until they took out the toilet to redo the floors did they realize that bad boys' aim had gotten pee under the floor/into the seal around the base of the toilet.

Yep, what coffee cat said. Look under the toilet. There's probably dried urine under there.

We had this issue and it appeared that the way that Janna was sitting on the toilet the pee would not go in consistantly We also had a soft toilet seat and that was a mess as it had small cracks in it and the pee would go into it. Good luck with finding the source of your smell.
