I am pregnant.
I got the absolute shock of my life last Thursday when I was having some "weird" symptoms (AKA pregnancy symptoms) and took a hpt. It was immediately + and I about passed out. I was over at my sister's and she started jumping up and down and crying (after she led me to a chair).
So after 16 years of marriage and 11 years of unexplained IF, I got to FINALLY surprise my husband with a surprise pg announcement last Thursday.![]()
My sis caught it all on tape.
Something I never thought in a million years I'd get to do. We have never ever gotten pg on our own and I've been off bcp's since 1999.
So, I went for an US today. I am measuring 5w5d EDC 9-3-11. They saw a HB but it was low...70. The US tech didn't seem too worried saying that often times they can't see a HB that early and that usually 6w0d is the earliest and that if I had come in yesterday they may not have seen it at all. She said that the benchmark is that at 6w0d they like it to be at least 100. But, there are no studies for hb's seen prior to that. Then, the radiologist came in and said that he thinks I am at a little higher risk for mc due to the low HB. They want me to come in next week for another US. The gestational sac and fetal pole all look good. I had no idea when my LMP was b/c I wasn't tracking....why would I? LOL! We SOOOOOOOOOO never thought this could happen to US! So much so that when we changed insurance last year to our individual HSA policy we opted out of maternity coverage. So, we have ZERO insurance coverage. Good thing we don't have financial worries. What a blessing.
I debated making this announcement. I am VERY nervous that I may mc. Actually, very is an understatement. BUT, I figured heck, I saw a good looking gestational sac, fetal pole (aka baby bean), corpus luteum cyst, and measured what I had figured I would today. I had implantation bleeding on 12/27 so if that was 4w, then I would be 5w3d by that....which isn't a super reliable way of figuring out dates but anyway. So, why not tell you guys? I could use the support whether I mc or don't.
If anyone has any experience with an early low HB, I'd love to hear it.
Also, we have NOT told friends and family yet, so please do not post on FB or anywhere else you may know me. We are going to wait another week for that. Thanks!

That's absolutely wonderful! Congratulations! I think it all sounds fine for as early as you are and I'll be praying it remains just fine and dandy!
