What age did your child(ren) sleepover at someone's house without you? Just curious. My MIL is frustrated with me b/c I don't want my eight month old to stay the night at her house (or anyone's house, she is just the one putting up the fight). I am nursing and DD wakes at night still. We drop her off on during the day for them to take care of her when they wish, but I'm not ready to let go of the night care. Just wondering if I am an odd one or not.

This is a no-brainer. You are still nursing. The baby is not even STTN yet.
My DD is 3 and still has not the spent the night at any of our parents' houses.

My boys are 2 1/2 and they have never spent the night anywhere but home. Seriously, we have not even traveled anywhere that required us to spend the night in a hotel. LOL. They have always been in their bed, at their home, for night time.
I don't think you are odd at all. And because you are still nursing, even more the reason to keep your DD with you at night.me (33) Dh (42)

I can't remember, but definitely not before age 2 - probably closer to age 4. They were about 7 months the 1st time we stayed in a hotel - but we were with them!

I had my son stay with my parents whenever they wanted him. He was adopted, so I was not nursing, but we were all fine with it.
I am glad I did, as my father died about 3 years later; I am glad they had that time together.

Um...no, you are still nursing and the baby is still getting up at night. For me, it wouldn't happen. My kids are 2 and 3 and still haven't spent the night alone with grandparents, well DS did when I was in the hospital having DD, but that was just for 2 nights because we didn't have a choice.

My ds was 5 months when he slept at my parents house for a night. My parents were great with him, were very close with him, and I trusted them wholeheartedly. And I wrote them what amounted to a novel regarding his routine.
