    unpacking after a trip...

when you come home from a vacation, how soon (or long) after do you unpack your bags and put the suitcases away?

I just got back from a month away and came back with 4 big suitcases and 3 backpacks, 1 handbag and 2 carryons. I still have one suitcases, and two backpacks to go through...

I tend to work through emptying the suitcases so I can stick them back in the shed as soon as I can, but I end up with piles of stuff that might sit around to get put away or sorted through for a few extra days, maybe even more than that...

Wondering if you guys unpack immediately or let it sit around for a day or two (or more)/

I never met you, but I know you. I never held you, but I feel you. You don't cry, but I hear you. Thank you for M and S. You would like them a lot.

RIP Shelbey (Aug 12, 2011) I miss you like crazy.

We usually unpack the day of or the next day. At least to get the suitcases out of the bedroom and have piles is at least an accomplishment. It also depends on how much is clean and dirty on how long before it gets put away.

I can't believe you are already back...that time flew by!

My Dh and I tend to unpack the suitcases on the same day unless we arrive home at midnight, then it waits for the morning.

I like to get everything back in place ASAP.

I am like you, unpack immediately - even very late at night, but I do end up with a few piles of odds and ends that need to be put away that sit around for really long sometimes. This is when I wonder why I bought all those souvenirs, when there's no place to put those things!!

I like to get it done asap... I usually do, but worst case, it's the next day.

I always sleep a few hours(returning to Belgium from the USA) and start unpacking as soon as I wake up! I absolutely hate things not being in order.

Ditto! However, I usually always unpack the kids right away. And DH handles his stuff, so it is usually just mine that is still waiting on me to unpack days later!

    That's me!
We just came back from Disney on Friday, suitcases are put away, laundry is done but there is a pile of stuff on my dresser waiting for me to decide where I should put it.
