silly question about K'nex and Legos

My son just got some legs and K'nex for his birthday (holy crap hundred million pieces ) Can I store them all together or do they need to be separate? They all look the same. TIA!!!

K'nex is compatible with Lego. My sons have a bazillion pieces as well, we store them all in the same tubs. They can't tell th pieces apart unless they look specificaly.

They are really compatible? I don't see how they would work together because they are so different. I'm very anal with this stuff. DS's K'nex are in their carry box, and all the pieces are grouped together and each group is in a separtate plastic bag. All his legos are in their original boxes.

    They're compatible?
As far as I remember all my DH's K'Nex are long pole things, not bricks. Maybe it was just the sets he had? We have ferris wheel, 2 roller coasters, a spinny thing, and some others- the whole carnival set up. Yes my DH is a very tall child.
I just dont remember seeing anything that was lego like.

I never knew they were compatible. I just asked my sons...they said 'some of the pieces work together, some don't.'

Yea, I guess there must be 2 different types of K'nex, cuz my son did get the vehicle type ones, not the carnival big pole type ones! They do look very similar to the legos. And I'm having more fun with it than my son is!!!

The K'nex we have are very compatible with Lego. I bought 2 tubs of basic K'nex about a yr ago and they are the same size etc as the basic Lego. I did not get the ones with all the extra pieces so maybe that's the difference. Ours looks identical to Lego

You would die of anxiety if you ever saw Ds's legos. I started out buying 20# of assorted legos on ebay for him. That went in a bucket. Since then he has got probably 30 more sets. Plus he orders from pickabrick.com. He makes custom things now and all his legos go in one big, long rubbermaid box. No sets, no color coding, just a bunch of legos.
