How do you dispose of raw meat?

I have chicken marinading in my fridge. It's been there a week. We have not been home much this week, needless to say. I'm assuming it's nasty gross now and want to trash it. How? I know it'll make the trash can stink...but what else could I do with it?

I would wait until trash day and then throw it out.

I usually put any and all meat in the freezer until garbage day. Just put it in a couple of plastic bags and lay it in the freezer. It will freeze and no smell. Then when garbage day arrives, I just take it out and put it in the proper recycle bin that we have for perishable items.

I freeze things, too, so that the garbage doesn't smell and I don't attract any critters at night - my friends used to laugh at me about doing this, but they do it now, too!

Put it in the freezer, label it garbage then pull it out on garbage day. That's what I do with my chicken skin etc.

If you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning.

Because I am lazy (and my trash can already smells ) I would probably toss it when the opportunity arose -- putting it in a plastic baggie, hopefully . Just the title of this thread is making me queasy, btw!!

This is what I normally do, but we did miss the trash last week so I put it in a WalMart bag marked BAD TRASH and put it in the freezer...and actually remembered it last night!

Yeap me too. We have an outside roller trash can that the city provided and since it already stinks I would just put it in there and not in the house trash.
