how early is too early to mow your lawn?

i am not talking about the lawn services, but you personally?

the reason i ask is yesterday morning, i woke up to my neighbor 3 houses down mowing his lawn at 7am, then this morning, another neighbor at 8:30. i think both of these are early, especially on the weekend.

we try to not mow till at LEAST 9:30, mostly 10am. what do you think?

Before 8 am would make me unhappy. 8:00 a.m. is pushing it but after 9:00 is fine by me.

I should mention that in the hot summer months, I can understand why someone would want to mow early.

I would think atleast 9 but people may have things to do and it could be their only time to do it.

during the week it's customary to start around here at about 7:30.

it really doesn't matter to me (now) cuz we're all up, but it made me very unhappy when i had babies sleeping.

we have a lawn service that comes so it's really not up to us, but if it were i would try and be considerate of my neighbors. especially because we do have ones with babies.

on the weekends, i'd say no earlier than 9-9:30.

I voted not before 8 am. I have more issue with the neighbor boys playing basketball in their driveways than neighbors mowing . Do you have problems with neighbors mowing after 9 pm too, during the summer?

I said not before 8 a.m. The noise doesn't bother me.

I have more of an issue with my neighbour who will be out in his garage with his power tools going until after midnight and the neighbours who leave their dogs outside to bark at all hours of the night.

sometimes, we have a strangle neighbor who snowblows after 9:30 pm but he has a lawn service so.....

a few neighbors mow after 9 in the summer but most of us, do it during "normal daytime" hours

Well I voted 9am, meaning the earliest should be 9am, but we have a town ordinance about 'noise levels' before 8am, so if you are mowing at 7:30 and somebody complains, or a cop in a bad mood drives by, you'll be told to stop. But after 8 all is good.
