what does strep throat look like?

Does it present itself as white spots or red dots in the back of the throat? My oldest DS had it last week and now my DS#2 woke up with a scratchy throat. I looked back there and he has red dots on his roof of mouth back where his tonsil's are. My car in in the garage and I am stuck at home so I cannot bring him in to the doctors today.

If your child has strep throat, he or she will start to develop other symptoms within about 3 days. Those symptoms can include:

red and white patches in the throat
difficulty swallowing
tender or swollen glands (lymph nodes) in the neck
red and enlarged tonsils
headache
lower stomach pain
fever
general discomfort, uneasiness, or ill feeling
loss of appetite and nausea
rash

i just wanted to add, i've had strep with no white patches, and white patches without it being strep. *usually* at some point strep will produce a fever.

my kid vomits with strep ... so that can also be a sign

yippee Skippy......From the looks of those pictures, I bet you that he is just starring with it. He has some but not alot. I bet they will be out in full force tomorrow. Thanks for all the help girls...I truly appreciate it!
