Packing Shampoo, etc. For Airplane Flight?

Anyone know what the current requirements are? I had heard that you could bring 3 ounce containers in a clear plastic ziploc bag. Is this true? Is that only for carry on? Or does that pertain to packed in checked luggage? My DH said he thought he had heard that you could bring larger bottles if you pack it in checked luggage.

    Thanks!

Yes, if you check your luggage, you can bring regular size bottles.

If you are carrying on any liquid or gel, it needs to be 3 oz. or less and in a ziploc bag.

    Have a safe flight!

My Dh in flew this weekend. Checked baggage could have any size needed.
For carry on baggage they were confiscating all aeorosol sprays regardless of size (hairspray), and any liquids in containers larger than 3oz.

So are you only able to bring less than 3 oz of milk for the baby. Is it per person? So would it be 3 oz for baby, 3 oz for DS, and 3 oz for me... or just 3 oz period??? We are flying to WDW... me, the baby, and DS... meeting DH who will already be in Orlando for business. WE are flying Southwest I think... Anyone know their restrictions? I can do without handlotion!!! I will just die of THIRST without my water bottle!!!!

Just flew today so I have the most updated info...it is NOT an airline specific restriction, it is the TSA (security checkpoint) deal.

    Here is the website. http://www.tsa.gov/assets/pdf/311-brochure.pdf

Also, any type of drink you purchase in the airport AFTER you go through security can be taken on the plane. If you have any drink with you at security, they will make you throw it away.

Mav- I think you can take 3oz per bag so if you each carry a clear bag then yes. However the easiet would be to take powder in the orginal can and add water on the plane.

ETA I just realized you said Milk if you buy it after you go through security you can take a full bottle of milk on the plane

Editing because I was incorrect with what I orginally wrote in this post...I just read the website. It says:
"All liquids, gels and aerosols must be placed in a single, quart-size, zip-top, clear plastic bag. Gallon size bags or bags that are not zip-top such as fold-over sandwich bags are not allowed. Each traveler can use only one, quart-size, zip-top, clear plastic bag."

(Baby formula or breast milk are exempt from this requirement, though. You just need to show them the bottle before you go through, so they can inspect it. They are pretty used to people traveling with young children in Orlando, so I don't think anyone would give you a hassle about it.)
