My DS is 4.5 years old. He and his friends from school like to run around and pretend to be Power Rangers and 'get bad guys.' DS talks about killing the bad guys, 'getting them,' zapping people, and also always talks about his 'power.' He is a very sweet boy but this phase seems very violent. He talks pretends that random people in the street are bad guys and sometimes says inappropriate things to them.
What age does this end? How do I deal? Thanks, Jann

Yeah, my boys are almost 6yo (next month) and they still do that. I am not sure when it ends, probably by 7 or 8 yo, but I guess it would depend on what the child gets into next.
My boys do it less now since they haven't been watching Power Rangers on TV as much. They are very into Pokemon and YuGiOh right now because of the show and are obsessed with the trading cards.
Many patience...I know how frustrating it is.

Snort - I forgot all about that stage! I guess it ended around age 7 or so - maybe a little sooner.

Got one here too! He is going to be the red power ranger for halloween and his friend is going to be the blue one. Cute thing is ---- DS does NOT like to play the bad guy. They are always looking for someone to be the bad guy and when its DS turn he flat out refuses and even cries sometimes if it seems he HAS to be the bad guy. I always tell him he doesn't have to be the bad guy and to tell his friends that! Ahhh - I love that kid!!!!!

Gee I just don't let my son watch Power Rangers...but I did let him dress up as one for Halloween. Oh wait a minute I did let him watch it a couple of times but he got too out of control for my tastes so I banned him from watching them but he seems to be ok with it.

If you ban a TV show he will find something else. If you ban guns he will make one out of toast.
But it WILL end naturally.Me 54, DH 34, Max 22, Cole 17
