They can be quite expensive. I recently learned that the price has to do with the school and whether or not they use it as a fundraiser. Our elementary school must choose the cheapest packages, while my son's preschool does not. The same photographer went to both schools and sent home the same exact form, but with totally different prices. I called the photography company and they told me about the fundraiser part of it all. The package I got for my older boys was $17 and the same package for the preschool was $44. I couldn't believe it! We were lucky that the elementary school lets preschool siblings come in before the start of the day to do photos at the $17 price! (The $17 included an 8x10, 2 5x7's and 8 wallets I think!).

Kaelyns preschool pics were 45 dollars. I thought it was pretty expensive for what i got. ANd the pics were not great, They were COMPLETLY off centered. SO bad that it was the first thing i noticed. And one of her eyes is KINDA squinted. Not so bad, but i noticed it. I am keeping them though cause for one i dont think we are having retake day. And if i send them back for a refund i have will have NO pictures. Plus, they are true to life. Ya know,, the NOT perfect thing.

The picture packages offered at dd's school ranges from $20 to $40. We usually get something inbetween. (Have to make sure there are enough pictures for all the grandparents!) Last year dd's pictures did not turn out good. It looked like they took it right as she was about to sneeze or something. Also, they took them AFTER lunch (???) and you could see a ketchup stain on her shirt. We sent them back for retakes and they were 100% better.

I think this is what the package I chose included - it was $31.00.

Thanks gals!! After reading everything, I think I'll buy the small package for a keepsake and go ahead and make an appt for professional pics.

I just sent in our money....$11 for the smallest package. I'm not expecting greatness, so I'm not paying for it either!
