He's doing very well considering everything he's been thru. He got to have his trach capped today for a while and they will do that daily while he gets used to it. He was able to talk a bit but sound like Mickey Mouse! Okay not that bad but close
. He has a pseudo anurism in his leg(from one of the catheters he had) so they are doing an angeogram to check it out, and they are anticipating watching & waiting on that. His blood flow into his arms was better than they anticipated and figers seem to be improving a bit. Some look really bad but still much improved. His feet are not looking so great and they were unable to find a pulse in his left foot
. His lower left leg also looks bad. Apparently most of this damage was caused by a condition he had called DIC( http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/e...cle/000573.htm) . They checked to see if any of the vessels could be opened up but there is nothing they can do. I am still praying that circulation will improve on it's own(with God's help of course). DIC itself is very deadly so the fact that he lived thru it in the midst of everything else is yet another miracle. He also got to start some solid food today which was nice. If everything goes well this week his dr wanted to transfer him to a rehab hospital closer to home next week
! I talked to one of the nurses who told me that when he does get to come home eventually we should have no problem getting him an in-home nurse if he requires it(either thru ins or the social worker will help us get one). That is a load off my shoulders with the baby coming. Thanks for all the prayers!

What nice progress that he was off the trach for a bit today. I can just imagine how happy he was about that! I continue to remember your dh in my prayers, and especially that proper circulation will return to his extremities.
