    Where to buy POOL SAND?

Anyone know where to buy Pool Sand? It's the sand that you put under pools to level the area?

    TIA

Hummm... Our hardware type stores carry sand, not sure if it's 'pool sand' or not. How about WalMart?

I know there is "play sand" for sand boxes at Toys R Us. Perhaps try a pool supply place or Lowes or Home Depot?

yes, the pool sand that goes under the liner can be purchased at home depot. it's about 1/2 the price of the sand you'd get at the pool supply store so don't go there. pool supply stores carry a finer grain of sand b/c they're made for sand filters.

LOL! Yep it's still out there. The pool is just a 12 footer. We're a corner lot so it is pretty large.

We have a corner lot that would allow for a pool too, I wish I could talk dh into getting one of those blue pools. I have a 7 ft wide (18-24 inch deep) clover leaf shaped pool that accomodates the four kids pretty well, but Kara is a fish and it's not deep enough for her .

I'll let you know how it goes. I got ours at Big Lots on sale for $59.99. Same brand that was at BJ's for $80 and Walmart for $99. Intex brand.

the pool supply place...it sounds like the same type sand used in filters. It is not any more expensive that the other stores and it is a fine type sand that will not hurt your liner.

I had to replace the sand in my inground pool filter this year and I think I paid $4 per bag.
