Cross over from another post- Do your children have friends that drive you crazy?

This is from Meredith's post. Ds has a friend that drives me nuts!!!! He is mean, whiney, etc. but I love the parents. If I correct him he will spit on me or yell at me. Sammy will pick up some of this behavior and I will tell him to quit acting like C. Or I will remind him how much C will hurt him and why would he do the same things. Dh never believed me about the behavior until he spit on dh this summer at the pool. He is such a handfull that I can never have him over to play by himself. Honestly he is a very mean little boy. Of course ds adores him and it drives me crazy!!! He picks up these behaviors and I refuse to accept them from my little boy. Now I'm not saying my son is perfect but oh man is he a saint compared to him. I love the parents but they always have an excuse for the behavior. He actually qualifies for services for preschool due to it. His mom will say it's because he didn't like the teacher's, the evaluater, or his dad was travelling so much w/ work that he was a mess. They school district had them keep him in a 3 yr. old class this year instead of 4 because they said 3 year olds can be more forgiving than 4 year olds. My son is pretty tolerant of his behavior but there are some other boys in our neighborhood that cannot play w/ him at all because it ends up as a big fight.
*Last year at their preschool party there was a stick for the pinata. He was swinging it around and the teachers didn't see it right away. I was right next to himso I told him to give me the stick- He tried to hit me with it and went crazy with it!! This is a boy that I see all the time and feel comfortable disciplining. Oh he drives me crazy!!!!!!!!!!!! He cannot stand other adults and hates authority. I do feel sorry for his mom because he runs her ragged!! This little boy makes me thankful that ds isn't mean.
ok off my soap box and ready to move forward to my day

DD has one of those - she is not really mean. Just a know-it-all, tattle tale! VERY competitive and always trying to one-up DD. I really like the parents so I just tolerate the child!

well i have a combination of the two posts. Andrew has a friend whose mother drives me crazy!! She has "diarrhea of the mouth" as dh would say...she could talk to a wall, and I think she probably has! she does not stop talking for a minute, even if the kids or teachers are talking to us at school...she talks about anything, total garbage that no one really cares about or that fits into the conversation. I used to get Andrew to school early so he could hang out a little first, but now, we get there right on time because I cant stand to spend any time listening to this one mom...and its sad bec her kids are so sweet...I feel bad at times too bec I see the other mothers avoiding her so I try not to make it obvious that I have to run out the door every morning...

YES!!! My dd's have a friend that I cannot STAND! I am very good friends with her mom though so I have always had to put up with her. It is a little better now but when they were little she was so mean., hitting., choking., teasing., etc. Now we mostly get to hear her be a brat to her mom but at least she's laid off my kids. Then there's my ds who has a little friend across the street that he plays with. He doesn't bug me too bad., but he is extremely moody and they do seem to have problems together a lot that my ds doesn't have with other kids his age because this boy is so moody and always pouting for attention or saying he wants to go home. It's annoying!
